In this ever-changing and evolving world, we are all feeling some confusion, perhaps isolation, and a little anxiety in our lives. I see this in my clients’ lives and in my own. Therefore, I am dedicated to working with adults and teens in individual and couples counseling because I can empathize and help people learn new tools to live a healthier, more joyous life. Trauma, relationships, and even family can sometimes negatively affect us. I strive to empower people to become unstuck and move forward with more positivity and strategies to make great changes for themselves.

As a spouse of a military veteran, I have a comprehensive knowledge of the obstacles that can occur during a military career, but also how these obstacles can impact not only the service member but the family as a whole.
If you feel like you are needing someone to talk too, I am here to listen. I make a conscience effort to understand your whole environment so I am better equipped to help you through your therapeutic journey. I currently have availability at a farm, where we are able to implement equine-assisted therapy intervention to further your change process.

Are you in the place in your life where you just feel done? You feel alone. Every relationship ends in disaster and heartbreak. Whether it is a romantic relationship or a friendship you just seem to pick the wrong people. You often feel disposable and rejected because all the people you want end up leaving you. You hear about people that have found their people and you wonder when will it be your day. When will you find the right relationships that bring you the quality relationships you dream of having. You feel too weak and paralyzed to try again only to find more heartbreak.

Together we can pursue your individual growth, or we can work within your troubled relationship(s) as a couple or family.
Do you sometimes feel in a fog, disconnected, or numb? Let's learn what this is protecting you from. Perhaps you feel your emotions or emotions of others too strongly, or can't connect to emotions how you want. If you don't know how to get in sync with a loved one, or don't ever feel heard, let's talk. Perhaps you were taught you had to be strong, that you are not allowed to ask for help, or that sharing with others would burden them. I believe together we can discover positive change for your life. If you've tried therapy before and it didn't work out how you wanted, let's talk about that and do it differently this time.

People were built to be resilient, but that doesn't mean you should have to navigate life's twists and turns all on your own. Our therapists provide a non-judgmental, safe place to share and process emotions, vent frustrations, and develop the tools it takes to tackle life's individual struggles. We believe that the most important part of the therapeutic process is a supportive and collaborative relationship with our clients, where they leave each session feeling understood and encouraged.

I work most frequently with those who may be experiencing anxiety, work stress/changes, relationship issues, divorce, grief and loss, traumatic experiences, military lifestyle challenges, parenting/co-parenting struggles, or women's issues. These situations can make one feel anxious, sad, overwhelmed, angry, stressed, hopeless, or alone, making everyday life tasks even harder. It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help and I look forward to the opportunity to help you feel more like yourself again.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
