I specialize in helping teens and adults navigate anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, stress, perfectionism/overachievement, and life's various obstacles.
You’ve been working your butt off, keeping everything together. You’re the Cruise Director for family and friends, making plans and solving problems. But when things don’t go as planned, you feel like a failure, and you hate it. You are unafraid of hard work or sacrifice; yet, your high standards make you feel like you never measure up. You’re tired and frustrated that no one else jumps into action like you. It's time to get some support. You deserve to feel better and live with less stress.

When we as parents feel our best, we parent more lovingly and effectively.
Now Accepting New Clients! You’re done white-knuckling your way through this. The anxiety, the constant decision making, the toxic relationships that you've successfully managed for years are turning you into someone you don't like. You feel your life spinning off axis. You don’t want to lead just another instagram-perfect life. You want your insides to match your outside. I help curious parents who are breaking generational cycles so they can parent more gently, set boundaries more intentionally and create families and communities that are equitable, thoughtful and whole.

Of course, when parenting, all these issues can impact the family and I'm here to help sort it out and find hope & direction.
My clients want to make changes that improve their quality of lives, careers, and relationships. I focus on couples, addiction, grief, trauma, life transitions, professional burnout, finding purpose, and spirituality. I connect well with mid-career professionals and people who have had that nagging sense of wanting something more. I also work with couples post-treatment from addiction. I see my role as a confidential member of the client's support system, a mirror, and exploration guide.

Do you feel misunderstood or lost in a world that pretends to have it all together? I believe our thoughts, behaviors & emotions affect our ability to live & embrace our best lives. Through voluntary acceptance of our past, present & future, we can build the skills & courage needed to successfully thrive! As a parent, daughter, former teacher, & corporate professional, I understand that often the most difficult step is acknowledging the need and taking the time to reach out for help. With the understanding that it is normal for our life journey to be messy & imperfect, we can grow stronger together, move forward & flourish.

Do you constantly worry that you are a “bad mom?” Do you feel completely overwhelmed by parenting, like some moments are even painful to you? If so, you've come to the right place. Motherhood is one of the hardest and most overstimulating experiences a woman will ever know — especially when you're a mom with ADHD, autism, sensory processing challenges or other neurodivergent traits. Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
