With over 20 cumulative years as an educator, school counselor and therapist I have been able to assist youth and adults as they've navigated through the various stages of life and change.

In our practice we work with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with a variety of issues. We have experience conducting a variety of comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, cognitive, and substance use evaluations. We have experience conducting psychological testing of patients of all ages, including but are not limited to: Personality, Diagnostic Clarification, Intelligence, Achievement, Learning Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (e.g., Autism), and ADHD testing.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

I have 22 years of experience caring for patients from birth to 100 years of age. I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University Purdue University, earning my Bachelor of Science in Informatics with a cognate in Data Analysis and chemi-informatics, and later received my second Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University. I advanced my education by receiving my Master of Science in Advance Nursing Practice from Indiana State University. I worked in multiple practice settings including primary care, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and urgent care for the past ten years.

Each potential client is different and brings different values and challenges to therapy. The goals, needs, or issues of every single person are just as important to me as my own, therefore I approach each client using a client-centered or Person-Centered Approach to ensure I am putting the needs of my clients before my own. My goal as a client-centered therapist is to prioritize the well-being of the individuals I serve and who place their trust in me as a licensed counselor.

I offer a judgment-free space for expression and provide an atmosphere that promotes safety, vulnerability, empowerment, and growth for clients. My primary goal is to utilize techniques that will best fit individual clients' needs and allow him/her/they to reach his/her/their goals successfully. I seek to invoke clients to internalize situations in a healthy context and provide an environment conducive to encouraging self-awareness, self-reflection, self-regulation, and self-correction. I believe every client is unique and requires an individualized approach; in doing so, establishing rapport is essential to the work we do together.
