I began my career as a school counselor, and have been in private practice since 2009. I enjoy working with people on an individual basis to guide them toward processing and change. My philosophy of counseling is to meet clients in the space in which they are ready, and help them find where they want to be. My history as a counselor includes working with parent/child relationships, couples and individuals to create more effective communication patterns. I enjoy working with clients as young as 8 through the lifespan.

Although I work with all ages, I have a special passion for working with older children and teens and their families. I have been working with children and adults of all ages in individual therapy / family therapy and play therapy for over 18 years. My expertise is in the areas of working with anxiety, depression, psychosis, grief, suicide, complex trauma, relationship concerns, developmental concerns for all ages, PTSD, and diversity issues, dementias. I specialize in comprehensive neuropsychological and diagnostic assessment for Autism, ADHD, Personality, medical necessity, forensic, fitness for duty, educational, TBI, dementias, etc. I speak several languages and have won several awards for multicultural and diversity focused work.

I believe people can change when they feel truly heard in a safe environment. I work to provide this experience via unconditional positive regard and acceptance. I assist clients in expanding emotional awareness and understanding how our emotions impact our behaviors. I am currently licensed in the North Carolina, Nevada, and Washington. I see client's virtually and in person. My office is located in the Lake Norman - Charlotte, NC area (Cornelius, NC). I specialize in treating trauma symptoms with EMDR both in person and virtually.

Chloe Paulsen is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate (LCMHC-A) with specialties in anxiety, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem, attachment issues, stress, major life transitions, and depression. She is passionate about working with teens and adults of all genders to help clients discover their identities and lay the foundation to build their full, authentic selves. Chloe completed her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Renee Williamson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with 3 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked extensively with children, teens, and families in various school settings including early education, developmental education, and both charter and public school systems. She has also spent time in senior care, residential prisoner re-entry programs, and foster and adoptive care. Renee is an advocate for individuals and families affected by mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities.

Life can be overwhelming at times. My mission is to meet individuals where they are, while assisting them in finding peace and enjoyment in their life experience. I enjoy working with teens, teachers, new mothers, couples, women navigating fertility issues or pregnancy loss, couples, and blended families. As a parent and former teacher, I understand development and complexities of the child and teen years. I believe that with a clear understanding of oneself, we can function with more agency and purpose. My goal is to validate your experiences and support your journey towards finding your best self.

Carmen offers assistance with mood disorders, social issues, relationship concerns, divorce recovery, personal growth issues, self-esteem, trauma, parenting issues, diversity/multicultural issues, women’s issues, adjustment challenges, and family of origin issues. She has a special interest in supporting parents of children who were born prematurely (or who are medically fragile) as well as those who have experienced challenging pregnancies.
