To honor the unique and genuine concerns each client presents, I have continued developed an approach that integrates and adapts my training and continued education in, EMDR, ACT informed ERP for OCD, IFS, Somatic and Mindfulness informed approaches, as well as Narrative, and Humanistic Therapy approaches.
I became a therapist because I believe we all deserve a safe space to process. In this space, it is my goal to provide clients with an environment where they may fully be their authentic self. I specialize in providing services to individuals seeking support for trauma/PTSD, OCD, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ concerns, life transitions, career exploration, relationship concerns, attachment work, grief and loss, and identity exploration. Throughout my practice I have learned the most effective approach is one that is personalized to meet the needs of each individual person.

My approach to therapy integrates existential-humanistic counseling, acceptance and commitment therapy, EMDR, somatic awareness, mindfulness, breath-work, and yoga.
Life can become overwhelming, overstimulating, and heavy. You may carry grief, sorrow, anger, stress, and worry in your mind and body. Maybe you experience waves in life where you lose your sense of self, your connection to the world around you, and you may lose meaning or hope during those difficult seasons. I seek to provide guidance for those who are open to the process of self-discovery and healing. My experience lies in working with CPTSD, PTSD, chronic stress, depression, anxiety, self-identity, life transitions, and spiritual concerns. I am passionate about providing gender affirming and culturally sensitive care.

Life is full of transitions and changes; some are welcome, and some are life shattering. What do you do when the aftermath of these changes is too much to manage? While it is common to feel anxious, overwhelmed, defeated, confused, and uncertain; you don’t have to stay in that place. Defining your new normal after these moments can require support and guidance.

Whether you are visiting this site for your child or yourself, I'm glad you are here. In life, we all face challenges that can feel like a heavy burden to carry. Simply put, life is hard. We are often dealt an undesirable hand or have unfortunate curve balls thrown at us, making aspects of life confusing and overwhelming. My goal is to walk beside each client as they learn how to navigate the tougher experiences, setbacks, and uncertainties. Each client I see is treated as unique and treatment is centered around their own personal experiences, preferences, and personal goals. My approach is extremely client-centered and collaborative, where clients have the opportunity to take control of their life and have a say in their treatment.

I’m passionate about therapy as a tool for helping young people develop and grow. Adolescence through young adulthood can be a challenging period of time for people, especially in a post-pandemic world. I believe therapy can be a positive tool for teenagers and young adults when they are met where they are, and are given a space to be authentic, vulnerable, and genuine.

Humanistic Therapists

How does humanistic therapy work?

One tenet of humanistic therapy is that people are good. The humanistic approach is concerned with a person’s ability to accept oneself. It likewise encourages a person to overcome self-criticism and self-defeating tendencies, as well as disapproval from others. This approach also emphasizes self-actualization and treating an individual as a whole person. A foundation of this therapy type: The patient is the expert in their life, and treatment often takes the individual’s lead.

Is humanistic therapy evidence-based?

Humanistic therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has found that humanistic therapy can lead to significant improvement, and for some people it can be just as effective as other therapies, such as Cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of humanistic therapy are enduring.

How long does humanistic therapy last?

The goal of humanistic therapy is to understand a person’s day-to-day experiences. While sessions can be short-term and last over a few months, therapy can sometimes continue beyond that and last up to a year or more. And because patients learn the theory behind humanistic therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is humanistic therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with humanistic therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in addressing poor self-esteem and self-sabotage, as well as improving conditions including anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can be long standing, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve learned during treatment.
