We are a Group of Trauma Specialist working with a variety of ages (8-100+) who have experienced trauma & have mental health needs. As a spouse of a retired veteran, I have over 20 years of experience adapting to the lifestyle challenges that the military community encounters. I have helped many families successfully cope with the military lifestyle, relational struggles and raise special children.

My specialties are trauma, anxiety, depression. 22 yrs experience counseling adolescents, adults, couples and families. I do supportive listening, accepting, understanding and compassionate counseling to help problem solve together and cope to focus on healing. Kinds of therapy I do: CBT, DBT, REBT, Art therapy, Play therapy and Christian counseling. Experience: worked with World Trade Center 9/11 survivors, survivors of torture, in a psychiatric hospital, an outpatient clinic, as a clinical supervisor, as a school based therapist, counseled military, their spouses & children at bases in USA, Europe and Japan and private practice.

I can truly say that I have never met a person that has not gone through difficulties in life, and I probably never will! People experience many life changing events daily and find it hard to cope when they feel they are going through it alone! Having a strong support system to help you navigate through tough times is always a good thing to have, and I would love to be apart of that system to give that support and extra push you need.

From an early age I have had a passion for helping others in an impactful way. I love to work with children, families, and teachers, including Expat families and Third Culture Kids (TCK). My passion is connecting parents, teacher and students, so that all feel heard, supported and students begin to thrive. Many of my clients are overwhelmed by life and they don't know why or what to do about it. Parents and teachers both experience burnout. Getting stuck in the middle of chaos, makes it hard to find the next move. It is not possible to solve a problem without rising above it. My role is to bring you up out of the woods and help you find more effective solutions, ultimately bringing peace of mind.

Accepting clients! At Emerge Child and Family Counseling we provide mostly a client centered approach to counseling to ensure our clients get the therapeutic services they need. We can utlize EMDR, CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, as well as other approaches. We are a full practice serving all ranges of clients with a focus on adults, children, teens, and support their families. We have multiple clinicians to fit with our clients to provide counseling where each person can build trust and foster a nurturing relationship. We are a smaller more focused practice where you feel more like family and welcomed, making treatment the most effective.

I do not think that there is an "ideal" client. Everyone has their own needs and I am here to help you accomplish your goals!

I am passionate about supporting people who range in age from early childhood through adulthood. My background in child psychology informs my work with adults as well, as I am always considering how a person's developmental path and early relationships have shaped them. In therapy, I strive to bring empathy, warmth, and humor to the process. You can expect me to be curious about and accepting of your experiences as I support you in actively working towards change. I am sensitive to issues related to disability, immigration, and non-traditional forms of family building, and welcome all to my practice.

Challenges come in all different walks of life, shapes, and sizes. It's the universal one thing everyone must deal with. As a therapist, I try to help my clients develop the skills to be able to deal with whatever challenges they may face with courage, dignity, and the strength to know that eventually they will overcome these challenges. For many these challenges include debilitating depression, intense anxiety, fractured communication skills, trauma, substance abuse, or any combination of those. Although admitting the need and asking for help may be hard, the skills developed in therapy can definitely be worth it.

Life is a journey full of transitions that can bring unexpected change and heavy emotions. Children and adolescents often struggle with navigating and regulating such big feelings.
