I have training in EMDR, CBT, DBT, somatic experiences, play therapy, and other evidence based practices that can assist in breaking down walls, reprocessing trauma, and changing the things that has kept individuals in darkness.
I am not afraid of hearing the hard truths that you don't share with others. I find it an honor and a privilege to come along side someone who trusts me enough to share their life, the good and the bad. I have supported people who have experienced things that they believe others think to be unreal, people who believe there is no reason to keep living, people who partake in activities they know are not good for them, people who struggle to have healthy relationships, and people that have been living in darkness. I want to help you break away from that darkness. I want to provide a space that fosters security, hope, and healing.

I use a holistic, evidenced-based combination of CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness-based techniques to individualize treatment and collaborate with clients of all ages and identities.
I spent the first part of my career in non-profit and private practice settings in a rural area. These experiences provided a wide range of clinical growth and led to specializations in complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. I quickly build rapport with clients and am particularly passionate about working with those who are apprehensive about the therapeutic process. In addition, I have an extensive background working with the LGBTQ+ community, from individual and group counseling to training clinicians in LGBTQ+ inclusivity.

I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ( EMDR).
We all have had experiences in our lives that have made us feel overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, alone or even broken. These experiences have caused a conflict within ourselves and have expanded to important areas of our lives. Adapting to these feelings is a challenge and reaching out for help is even more challenging. The key to healing, both emotional and psychological, is creating a relationship with ourselves and others that helps foster compassion and hope. Change is a process but taking this journey with someone, in a safe and non-judgmental space, allows for the mind to start the healing process.

I have training in the Trauma Resiliency Model and EMDR to assist in healing from trauma.
After 10 years of experience I have found a passion working with adolescents and young adults. I spent much of my time working in acute settings with self-harm and suicidal thoughts as a result of trauma, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other diagnoses. I enjoy helping my clients gain a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they are connected. We work together to gain skills to better manage, cope, and communicate difficult emotions in a health way. In addition, I enjoy helping teens strengthen their ability to communicate to parents and their supports. I currently see ages 13-25

I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Immediate availability for new clients! Do you feel like something is keeping you from enjoying a peaceful life? Is finding the strength to get through today a daily occurrence? Is previous trauma weighing heavily on your heart, mind, and soul? Are your current relationships toxic or unsatisfying? My goal as your therapist is to normalize the common experiences we share as humans: pain, suffering, the desire to know our true selves, and connect with others. Unhealed trauma, anxiety, and depression can leave us feeling blah with life.

Hi, I'm Victoria, I've been honing my specialties for 30 years. I specialize in releasing trauma and old beliefs, rewiring mental habits to result in improved confidence, self esteem, clarity to follow dreams and goals. Since training in the bilateral therapies ( EMDR, A.R.T., and Brainspotting) I've witnessed healing on a whole new level. Changing beliefs, thoughts and feelings that have been lifelong takes more than talking about, in my opinion. It requires change in the deep sub conscious, a place easily entered and "edited" utilizing these therapies, works much better and faster than only talking.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
