I help men of all ages work through social, romantic, family, and career challenges by improving their sense of meaning, knowledge, and self awareness during difficult times. Many of my clients suffer from mental health symptoms (general or social anxiety, depression, anger) that have negative effects on their self esteem and relationships. This creates a feedback loop that feels difficult to break, but is possible to overcome with the right environment, guidance, and an openness to change.

Do you notice your child struggling but aren’t sure how to help? Does seeing your child struggle bring up your own anxieties, frustrations, and fears? In today’s technological, fast-paced world, children and teens face unique challenges, experiencing heightened levels of mental and emotional distress. This can sometimes open old wounds and insecurities for parents, leaving them unsure of how to best support their child. I work with children, teens, young adults, parents, and families grappling with feelings of stuckness, insecurity, anxiety, depression, restlessness, overwhelm, and anger.

My whole career I have worked with teens and young adults. I love working with young folks because they are at a time in their lives where they are constantly growing and changing in so many ways. Sometimes growth can be a real challenge and it can create pain and conflict, but it is my goal to help teens, young adults, and their families to move through these moments and to become the people that they want to be. I work alongside young folks and their families to identify what the major hurdles they face are and then help to figure out how can we all work together to overcome them.

You’ve known easier times, or you know they’re out there and you’re looking for them. You're taking action to feel better in the face of challenge and that’s a big deal. You deserve the support of someone familiar with challenging times. The empathy and proactive engagement you'll come to expect in your work with me, come from a place of understanding the urgency for resolution that accompanies pain. You have the capacity to learn and grow in the ways necessary to find relief, peace of mind, connection with others, and a sense of competence in the activities that are important to you.

You're used to being smart enough to figure things out, but this thing has you stumped. Maybe you're spending more time than you'd like thinking about that thing in your past. Maybe your relationships keep failing in the same way and you're starting to think it might be you (or at least the people you seem to always choose). Maybe you feel like your friends are tired of listening to you vent. Maybe anxiety or sadness is keeping you from doing the things you want to do.

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it" --Ferris Bueller. If you are looking for strategies to both slow down and move forward, you will find benefit in our sessions. I am a former software programmer and have helped many from the tech industry navigate mental health issues related to their work. Many of the people I work with are seeking relief from social anxiety, management of depressive symptoms and a better work/life balance. Each phase of life presents heightened developmental tasks, need sensitivities, crises, and opportunities for new learning. The Path Begins Here.

The core of effective therapy involves creating a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship where you can be yourself. In my work with individual adults and couples, I focus on building this foundation so we can explore those deeper emotions (anger, fear, grief, shame) and promote more supportive connections. My approach is flexible and completely dependent on your needs, but my goal is always to make you feel more whole, whether that means discussing the past, the present, or focusing on the future.

Everyone needs some moments to be heard without judgement. I believe therapy can offer that unconditional space for people. All we need to do is to invest time and effort to come to the space to explore the stories inside of us. Nothing is wrong and everything teaches us something. I am here to witness the process and support self-determination within a safe space where the client and I build together. I take insight oriented indirective approach to help clients to find connections to themselves.

When we come to therapy, often our choices have not led to the life we desire. Under the influence of anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress, or the allure of substances, pornography, spending, etc., it can seem like life is out of our control. Rather than be controlled, we desperately want to be free to pursue what is truly good. Therapy then is an opportunity to not only find freedom from mental turmoil, but to realign life toward what is worth pursuing. The goal, then, is not simply to “not feel” a certain way, but to be drawn into something much greater that transforms our mind, our relationships, our work, our spirit.
