My practice offers confidential psychotherapy in a comfortable atmosphere. I offer a safe space for all to process difficult emotions and memories. I understand that the struggles of life can cause us to feel overwhelmed and hopeless about the future. My style is open and direct, nonjudgmental and I use humor and positivity in my relationships. I believe we are capable of overcoming the barriers that keep us from being who we wish to be. I will help you gain insight and understanding into patterns that cause suffering and help you to develop a plan towards a, " life worth living."

When life is hard, therapy helps. Sadness, anxiety, issues in our relationships, complications of aging, work stress, illness, family conflict can feel overwhelming. Therapy is a place to sort out what is working for you and what you want to change in life - and it makes change possible. I bring lots of years of experience and a belief in the positive effect of warmth and humor combined with evidence based therapeutic strategies.

When did things get so hard? And honestly, just saying things are hard makes me feel guilty because I know others have it harder, so I shouldn’t complain. I’ve said things I regret to the people I love - why?! How do I stop? Sometimes I feel like I hate everyone, other times I worry about the state of the world and if we will all be OK. Me and my significant other are totally out of sync; I’m worried about our relationship. I know I should talk to someone, or that we should, but I just don’t know if I even have the energy. If any of this sounds even the tiniest bit like you, or your relationship, I’m glad you found my page.

As a veteran and retired state trooper, I have experienced the impact of the accumulation of stress from multiple critical incidents in addition to the need for confidentiality. You may feel like no one in your organization values or respects your dedication and that hurts the core of who you are. You loved your job, but now it feels like you don't recognize who you used to be and hide your suffering from those who know you best. You are afraid that a therapist can not relate to what you have been through, and fear your teammates will think you're weak.

When you are finding it difficult to get through the day, it can be hard to know how to continue on. Maybe you are struggling to complete basic everyday tasks, and you become overwhelmed and hard on yourself as a result. Perhaps you find yourself struggling in relationships with others and feel stuck, with no clue where to begin. But you deserve to live a life you love; one where you feel capable and confident in yourself and your abilities.

My primary focus is to help children, parents and adults reframe, rethink, then refresh their views, opinions, and actions. I enjoy taking research based theories and sharing the information in a pragmatic way. I believe my authentic and genuine interest in helping others is what enables my clients to "flip" their thinking and actions for positive change. With children I use various play and cognitive behavior therapies to help in navigating the academic, emotional and social stress they are faced with in today's digital world. Additionally, I work with parents to offer effective ways to parent their children for optimal success.

My philosophy has always centered around meeting the child and family exactly where they are, no matter the difficulties they may be facing at any point in their journey. This approach allows for the creation and development of an effective, individualized treatment plan for individuals on the autism spectrum. The world of autism therapy is vast and can feel very overwhelming at times. I’ve dedicated my career to pinpointing the most effective evidence-based therapy techniques, rooted in ABA, that address specific behavior, communication, emotional regulation, and social skills difficulties.

Have you ever felt ‘stuck’ and helpless? Have you experienced trouble connecting with others and yourself? Or maybe, you have been feeling unwanted and unlovable? I believe that we all reflect the cumulative impact of our past experiences and the experiences of generations before us. The way we approach challenges and relate to others and ourselves is inherently shaped by dynamics we experience within the society and families of origin we come from. Adverse experiences and traumas are a fact of life. It is the way we react to them determines the quality of life we live.

I work with children, teenagers, and adults with a variety of behavioral, mood, and relationship challenges. Through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), we work to change thoughts, behaviors and emotions that interfere with life satisfaction, happiness, day-to-day functioning and relationships. In addition to CBT, my therapeutic style incorporates supportive therapy, parent therapy, and stress management. I strive to develop a collaborative and respectful relationship with my clients in a safe environment to decrease anxiety, improve mood and relationships, and help create a stronger sense of self-competency and self-worth.

I specialize in stress and grief counseling. When life "happens" it can be overwhelming and confusing, there are times you simply need a sounding board and sometimes you need much more. Stress can come from many different sources and may become complicated and difficult to deal with. Such debilitating stress can be based in everyday life or a sudden occurrence such as loss of a loved one. There is no specific way to grieve and no guideline that was ever taught. Grief can be such a heavy burden to carry that can affect every aspect of your life. It can be stressful, confusing, and debilitating.

I help moms thrive without fear, anxiety and overwhelm. My clients struggle as you do. Despite being strong, capable and amazing, life is hard. Even harder really since becoming a mom. When you first come in, you’re struggling to know yourself, inundated with overwhelm, fear, worry and a heavy load. Everyone’s load may look different, but it’s heavy. With EMDR, moms can begin to feel less overwhelmed, less triggered, less anxious and there’s room for more joy!

Are you suffering from traumatic experiences and the negative effects? Would you prefer to resolve the core issue and NOT merely 1) treat symptoms with medications, 2) talk about it for months in therapy, or 3) use willpower to control yourself? Whether the trauma is large or small, old or new, you CAN release it and FULLY recover from the toxic emotions and unhealthy behaviors that you learned from it. Most of my clients find real, lasting improvements with their memories, limiting beliefs, emotional state, and lifestyle habits within a few sessions. If you really want to think, feel, and do better, then I may be able to help you.

It can be so hard to be in our experiences of life. For many reasons, we can find ourselves stuck, worried, sad and lost. We can lose our anchors, our values, our meaning and our quality of life. We can experience terrible traumas and struggle in relationships with others and with ourselves. We can lose our capacity to feel agency in our own lives and to stay engaged and curious with our own unique journeys. We do not find our way in isolation. I believe that, in working together, we are better equipped to navigate the journey and to feel good about the direction it takes.
