TriCare Counseling and Consulting started accepting clients in 2010 as a practice that partners with professionals to form a caring team dedicated to improving the qualify of life for children, adolescents, and adults who deal with mental health disorders. Elizabeth Gamble, Psy.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist with experience at a major regional medical center and in private practice. Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be an extremely emotional experience for moms. Many changes happen mentally and physically that can make this time period challenging. As many as 1 in 7 moms will experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD). PMAD can occur at any point from conception through postpartum, sometimes extending into a lengthy course of time if not treated. If you are a mom with these issues, you might feel alone, helpless and fearful of how to ask for help with PMADs.
