With a specialty in trauma resolution, I use many holistic methods and techniques to help you clear away what has gotten stuck and create the life you want.
If you have been struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or just dealing with life events that left an imprint, I'd love to help you move past these and define yourself on your own terms. Healing traumatic experiences is an unlearning process. We are born equipped to deal with life's injuries and the resulting emotional wounds. As we grow, the world teaches us all kinds of lessons that are counter-intuitive to our adaptive nature. You can shed what no longer serves you and I would love to help.

Specializing in trauma of all kinds, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), Certified Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) Practitioner, and have a Masters Degree in Art Therapy.
Even the most self-aware humans can experience periods of confusion, stuckness, and destabilization, and oftentimes suffering has unconscious roots. I've dedicated my training and education as a helping professional to learn how to unlock messages from the unconscious to promote healing and well-being. I also strive to arm my clients with concrete tools to use independently, long after our work together is completed. I have many years of experience helping people heal, blending a variety of nontraditional and expressive therapeutic approaches with evidence-based interventions to meet the individual needs of the people I serve.

I work with adults and couples impacted by childhood trauma, intrusive thoughts, anxiety and panic, relationship issues, codependency, identity confusion, low self esteem, and grief/loss.
During the course of our lives we experience many joys and hardships, and along with them the full range of human emotions. Each moment and feeling is an opportunity to better understand self, other, and the world. Your painful feelings may be signals that old wounds need to be acknowledged or that your truth is not being lived fully. If you are currently struggling to cope with life challenges, feeling unfulfilled or seeking personal growth, the therapeutic relationship can provide an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore the body and mind in a safe, comfortable space.

A few areas of my particular expertise and interest are: healing developmental needs and trauma, healing relationship/attachment issues, recovery from current and past abuse, sexual issues, loss and grief, mood and anxiety problems, addressing fertility, conception, pregnancy, parenting, menopause/andropause and aging, spiritual development, and freeing our creativity.
Whether you have a current personal or relationship crisis, or an ongoing problem, I can help you increase your peace, satisfaction, effectiveness, and understanding of yourself and others. Want joy and satisfaction in your life, and yet circumstances, known or unknown, seem to keep getting in the way? I offer tools for changing that. We will work with both the conscious brain, and with the instinctive brain, which has a mind and a life of its own. Many who've had much therapy, made good changes but not fundamental shifts, have happily transformed their lives working this way with me.

I have been working with individuals struggling with trauma, addiction, and grief and loss since 2015.
Hello! I believe that each one of us comes into this world with particular strengths and gifts to offer. Through the turmoil, loss, and pain we face, we often become disconnected from our true and whole self, losing sight of these strengths and gifts. In our work together, my goal is to provide a safe and therapeutic container for you to explore what is blocking you from your joy, supporting and guiding you in reclaiming your whole self.

In addition to my primary modalities, I also utilize integrative techniques such as psychotherapeutic reiki, chakra work, and somatic bodywork to assist in improving overall wellness and processing trauma.

Experiencing body pains and somatic concerns? Feeling disconnected and ungrounded? Finding balance and reconnecting with yourself can be challenging, but I am here to help!

And when this stored trauma gets triggered, it interferes with our ability to be present and engaged in our lives.
There is a solution. There is hope. And there is healing. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, disruption in relationships, substance abuse, and on and on. These are curable, changeable, healable issues. When you go straight to the root of the issue, you can bring deep, lasting change. And we now know that the root of every mental health disorder (and many physical diseases as well) is some form of unresolved trauma. Trauma refers to any moment in our lives that our resources were overwhelmed. Big or small, single events or years-long patterns-if we don't have the support to process it, we store it.

I know what it's like to be stuck in a trauma loop and wanting to move forward, and wanting something beyond the norm.
Sometimes growth means that things fall apart first. When you know that your life wants to advance, sometimes things have to change. Change can be uncomfortable, but the next version of you - integrated, whole, and happy - is on the other side of change. I am not a therapist so much as a holistic practitioner in mind, body and soul. I work with individuals and couples who are at an evolutionary point in their life's journey.

You do not have to be sick to get better. I believe in paying attention to experience not what is bad or wrong. We can all learn skills to improve. My past experience as a world ranked professional tennis player gives me insight to work with high school, collegiate and professional athletes or anyone in this age. I work from a depth model, which encourages self-exploration to improve skills. The exploration helps one become conscious of long standing coping mechanisms that may no longer be as valuable as they once were. Learning what you do that blocks happiness empowers you to make choices that lead to a satisfying life.

I believe that psychotherapy is a meditative dialogue that is constructed between you and I with the purpose of creating a sacred space. The function of the dialogue within the sacred space is to access memories, symbolic images and past experiences that live in your unconscious, and bring those contents into present awareness. This entire process is to help your personality to grow and often decrease the experience of emotional and spiritual pain.

I specialize in relationship issues, self-worth problems, addictive behaviors, and burnout. Maybe you struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, or imposter syndrome. Your relationships might suffer, or you don’t feel like your life is aligned with who you really are. At these times, we can lean too heavily on things (alcohol, “scrolling”, overworking) that temporarily help, but don’t get us where we’d like to be. I work with people who want to look more deeply inside to create lasting change in their lives and their relationship to themselves. I'm here to help you fulfill the potential you have for joy, connection, and success.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
