Through a warm therapeutic relationship, I incorporate mindfulness practices and self-regulation techniques.
Are you ever scared to tell someone how you feel? When someone asks, “How are you?” your response is, “I’m good, how are you?” It can be daunting to be vulnerable and genuinely express our emotions. Whatever you are experiencing, I am honored that you are here and have chosen to begin your counseling journey. My goal is to help you feel valued, understood, and appreciated just as you are. Together, we can make sense of your current situation and explore where you want to go. I believe that you can find purpose and connection and become better equipped to navigate the complexities of life.

Outside of traditional talk therapy, I often include mindfulness and meditation in sessions.
Are you feeling lost in life? Struggling without any sense of guidance. Do you feel there is more to life than what it is giving back to you? If you feel these things, you are not alone. It is just part of being human! As a professional counselor, it is my job to help guide you towards your individual goals. It is my hope in our work together that we can uncover necessary truths of self-discovery through a compassionate lens. I often collaborate with young adults who are needing guidance with life transitions, management for anxiety and depression, and healing from past trauma.

Within counseling, I will draw upon trauma-informed approaches including EMDR and IFS as needed, and integrate other frameworks including CBT and Mindfulness.
Life can throw us some major challenges and often people can end up in survival mode, panic mode, or just struggling to get out of bed in the morning. Counseling provides resources and support for moving out of these modes into well-being, health, and joy. Each person comes to counseling with their own strengths and challenges. My job as a therapist is to support each person as they move towards their goals such as decreasing anxiety and depression, healing from old wounds or trauma, learning skills to manage emotions or experiences, exploring themes such as identity and self-esteem, working through relationship conflicts, and more.

Mindful, gentle, supportive, intuitive. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, and frustration or find yourself turning to unhealthy behaviors for relief and escape from uncomfortable feelings. You may also be struggling to be free of the devestating effects of past trauma. Or you may have a knowing that there is a freer, stronger, and more joyful you that has just seemed to remain out of reach, despite your good efforts. Through mindfulness attention and somaticwareness, that which was previously "in the way" becomes our doorway to healing, clarity, peace, joy, and the ability to realize our personal and life goals.

People often think psychotherapy is only for crises. However research shows that therapy is one of the best investments you can make for life satisfaction and growth. In addition to therapy are other modalities that support healing and growth. Some of these holistic wellness tools include exercise, mindfulness, tai chi and yoga. I have a rich background in the application of mindfulness to promote healing and growth, and have experience integrating tools such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, CBT, Hypnosis and EMDR. I also find authenticity and humor essential for healing and use both liberally.

I am passionate about working with all clients using a value centered approach relying on Acceptance and Commitment as well as teaching skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal communications.
You feel guilty because you should be happy. You are ashamed that although everyone thinks you have it together, you are crying your eyes out when no one is around. You want to stop feeling sad. You want to stop being scared and anxious that the next shoe is about to drop and you can't handle one more thing. If these are some of the thoughts you have, you are not alone and there is a way to find a place of peace and calm. If you want to figure out how to love your life and yourself again, please call.

I have twenty plus years’ experience as a therapist using mindfulness, CBT, and a humanistic approach.
I believe in transformation - yours (and mine), and that the draw towards the good is irresistible. Whatever challenges you face, there’s a way forward. How you see yourself - and those around you - can make all the difference. I want to know your story, how you tell it, and where you hope it will go. You’ll have a partner as you navigate life transitions and circumstances, learn to better manage difficult thoughts and feelings, change patterns that no longer serve you, and improve relationships. As your unfoldment happens (and yes, it's always messy), you’ll have an ally in this incredibly difficult yet doable work.

I support people in therapy from a compassionate, harm-reduction philosophy using the following approaches: Internal Family Systems (IFS); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; somatic interventions; and other mindfulness-based approaches.
Welcome, I am glad you are here. Seeking therapy takes courage, but it can also offer the greatest fulfillment known to humans - to truly know & trust yourSelf. My name is Rebecca, I am an IFS-informed therapist who is passionate about serving others in finding & fulfilling their heart's deepest purpose & desires. By working through my own CPTSD obstacles I experientially learned how to create a more meaningful life & would love to be alongside you in doing the same. I currently serve folks working through addiction, trauma, relational issues, depression, anxiety, mental illness, health issues, or other daily life stressors.

My passion is working with individuals who have suffered from the consequences of making high risk decisions. These decisions have resulted in legal, medical, and interpersonal dilemmas. I use a focused, solution-oriented approach designed to explore the context within which these decisions and associated patterns of behavior have become impractical and repetitive. We will explore alternative problem-solving approaches that incorporate mindfulness, paradox, metaphor, and contingency management. My background involves working with individuals/couples/families in crisis.

Most of the approaches that I find most effective, and that I use to help people, are based in some way in the practice of mindfulness.
We all struggle with some degree of anxiety, trauma, some kinds of interpersonal challenges. It really helps to have someone to help us navigate these struggles and build skills. As a therapist, I offer lots of ideas and practices, and the folks who get the most out of our work are willing to try things out on their own. I offer these approaches with kindness, authenticity, and a sense of humor. There’s no reason therapy can’t be fun!

I also draw from extensive training in other mindfulness-based and somatic-oriented modalities, and occasionally provide coping skills from CBT, CPT, DBT, and ACT.
I work with adults only and specialize in treatment for chronic pain, trauma/PTSD, and anxiety. I also help with a range of other issues. I especially enjoy supporting clients who have centralized conditions (e.g., fibromyalgia, IBS) and/or autoimmune diseases alongside histories of trauma. Clients often come into therapy with me expressing a desire to more deeply understand themselves and their sense of suffering, and to let go of the burdens they carry. My job in that process is never to fix you or tell you what to do. Rather, it is to support you in discovering your own deep knowing about who you are and what you need.

I also incorporate many techniques from mindfulness and self compassion.
I am EDMR certified and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 trained. I use these powerful tools and others like ACT to help you understand yourself better and transform limiting patterns and beliefs. Healing is about bringing the unconscious to the conscious level, which allows our true self to emerge, and my techniques are designed for this purpose. I create a safe space for you to explore the links between past and present, to see what you are still holding onto and to help you finally let go. I also teach a variety of skills and tools. Perhaps you've tried talk therapy and are ready to go deeper. If so, this may be for you.
