I specialize in couple therapy, life transitions, relationship struggles, professional consultation, supervision, parenting and ketamine assisted psychotherapy.
People come to see me because they are experiencing a life transition, struggling with partnership/ relationships, frustrated with self-defeating patterns that they have not been able to change, having a hard time shifting relational/ family patterns, needing support navigating conflict, creating boundaries or improving relationship dynamics. I work to create a warm, safe environment where deep personal issues can be explored. I believe that we are shaped by our relationships and life experiences. I am often described as warm, intuitive and an active listener who promotes a confident, safe atmosphere for collaborative work.

Sometimes growth means that things fall apart first. When you know that your life wants to advance, sometimes things have to change. Change can be uncomfortable, but the next version of you - integrated, whole, and happy - is on the other side of change. I am not a therapist so much as a holistic practitioner in mind, body and soul. I work with individuals and couples who are at an evolutionary point in their life's journey.

My approach to therapy emphasizes the healing relationship, because we can only heal and grow when we feel both safe and secure.
Have you felt disconnected, misunderstood, and isolated? Do you feel as though you have lost touch with yourself and, by extension, others? I support teens and adults to develop a deeper understanding of the roots of their struggles, whether they surface as anxiety, trauma responses, depression, or relational distress. I use the therapeutic space to shed light on where we may be getting in our own way and what pieces of our past may be keeping us stuck. By increasing understanding of the self, we are better able to recognize more adaptive ways to cope with life's stresses that work for our unique, individual hearts and minds.

My passion is working with individuals who have suffered from the consequences of making high risk decisions. These decisions have resulted in legal, medical, and interpersonal dilemmas. I use a focused, solution-oriented approach designed to explore the context within which these decisions and associated patterns of behavior have become impractical and repetitive. We will explore alternative problem-solving approaches that incorporate mindfulness, paradox, metaphor, and contingency management. My background involves working with individuals/ couples/families in crisis.

Clients I work with tend to be outsiders; some looking for community and some looking for clarity. They are people-pleasers struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, or depression. They are from families that lack boundaries, and might be adult children of substance users. They are couples navigating communication differences, life changes, or nontraditional relationships. They might be queer, neurodivergent, or questioning their gender. More often than not, they are looking for someone to support them without judgment, and help them feel less alone. If any of this sounds familiar, I'm glad you're here.

Individual, family, and couples sessions, in person or telehealth.
I believe as humans we must support each other on our life journey. I enjoy helping clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their thought patterns and emotions, relationships, and navigate and make sense of their world. I believe that clarifying what is important to each individual, their needs, and their goals, helps provide direction and purpose in life. I often help clients explore how past experiences, family dynamics, addiction, and personality affect how we relate and function in this world. I offer individual, couples, and family sessions.

I believe that connecting with your therapist is essential and enjoy building a working relationship with my clients.
Life is a funny thing. And often terribly complicated. During our journey in this world, we often face challenges that can feel too big or ongoing. Whether it’s with chronic feelings of anxiousness, depression, emptiness, issues about sexual orientation, gender, or ethnicity, relationship conflict, sleep disturbances, substance misuse, school or work issues, or any combination of those, many of us struggle silently. But you don't have to. It can help to work with a therapist with a deep understanding of what it’s like with some of those struggles and who is passionate about helping others learn to thrive despite these adversities.

I hold the deep conviction that life's conundrums and circumstances call for getting to know ourselves much more deeply while being seen, heard, and held in healing relationship and supportive community.
To the misunderstood, the misdiagnosed, and the overly diagnosed; to those who feel a sense of stuckness; to those experiencing deep, overwhelming thoughts and emotions; to those who wonder if there might be a different way or if anyone could ever understand and accept them; to those who struggle to feel or understand their own behaviors, thoughts, and emotions; to those who believe they may never be good enough; to those who believe they may be irreparably broken or damaged: I am called to meet you with curiosity, creativity, and understanding.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
