Hello, I am a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor in SC and NC. I've spent several years working as a Licensed Nurse and LPC. I work with all ages; children, teens and adults, couples; excessive worry, depression, mood, impulsivity, ADHD, social anxiety, other serious emotional disturbances. Always emotion focused and person centered and/or trauma-focused. We each have a voice and when life is hard, sometimes we don't always feel we can speak up. In therapy we will find your voice and hopefully you will feel you can talk about the things going on in your life in a safe space, never with judgement.

I help clients recognize that they do not have to be victims of their circumstances or history. Sometimes we are faced with painful circumstances. Sometimes even everyday life begins to feel overwhelming. The unfortunate reality is that we cannot always control what happens in our lives. We can, however, choose how we respond to the difficult things that occur. I believe that all of us have the ability to grow and to make positive, lasting change in our lives. My role as therapist is to help facilitate this process.

You’re holding everything together nicely on the outside - work, school, family, everyday tasks - but on the inside, you feel like you could break down at any moment. Perhaps you feel like you work hard at being perfect but never measure up to your own standards. Or maybe your anxiety and intrusive thoughts have become all-consuming, even scary. My goal is to help you find healing and wholeness, and silence that inner voice of worry and negativity. I believe no matter what you are experiencing, there is still hope, and I would love to support you and work with you to achieve your goals while creating a safe space for you to heal.

As a warm and person-centered therapist, I believe in partnership with a client to meet them where they are and work towards their goals together. Life can be hard and circumstances can feel heavy, but you've made the first (and often hardest) step to lightening the load and achieving your goals.

I am passionate about helping professional women and men of color rediscover their power using EMDR therapy, self-care, boundaries, self-love, and a variety of person-centered clinical interventions.
Ever been afraid to ask for help because you're supposed to be the strong one, the smart one, or the successful one who has it all? Have you ever been surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones, yet you are all alone? Afraid to open your mouth because your culture, race, religion, or ideology of life says that doing so means you are speaking negatively over your life, therefore you're a complainer and miserable? Do you just want to get some things off your chest without fear of judgement ? Are you so overwhelmed with work or other obligations that you've lost or forgotten who you are?

Hi! I'm Hannah Glenn, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and licensed clinical addictions specialist. My specialty is working with family members affected by a loved one's substance or behavioral addiction. I also work with individuals diagnosed (or not yet diagnosed) with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and dissociative disorders. Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
