Book a free consultation, and let’s see if we’re the right fit to meet your goals! Finding a therapist that's the right fit for YOU can be tricky. I've been told that what people tend to appreciate about our time working together is that they feel both heard and seen. I'll sit in the mud and hold space if that is needed. I will cheer you on as you try new things. I will help you find ways to deal with stressful situations or heal from traumatic experiences.

Our clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive health care. We have a collaborative practice which allows us to see the "whole person" not just parts. We believe in the innate ability our bodies have to heal wounds both physical and psychological. Each client is treated with compassion and care. We focus on developing a treatment plan that addresses your needs as well as our knowledge. We don't believe in "doing things" to clients without their understanding. Developing a safe and caring relationship is of utmost importance so we make every effort to create an environment that is as relaxing as possible.

Welcome! I’m so glad you're here. My passion lies in working with adolescents, teens, and adults who grapple with people-pleasing, overachievement, boundary challenges, and feeling afraid to be vulnerable. These individuals feel overwhelmed or anxious due to expectations, making it difficult to prioritize their own needs. I’m here to walk alongside you as we navigate these challenges with compassion, understanding and humor (when appropriate). Together, we can explore these patterns, cultivate healthier boundaries, and foster a deeper understanding within yourself, allowing you to live a life that feels more authentic.

Creating change in your life can be hard. Sometimes it might feel as if situations in your life are so overwhelming that you don't even know where to begin. I am honored to assist you in navigating those changes and help you feel that you are not alone in meeting the challenges in front of you. It's important to feel in control of ourselves and, to some extent, the world around us. In an ideal therapeutic relationship, I believe that the client determines the direction and success of treatment. Let's put it this way, if we were to go on a journey together - you would be the driver while I would act as the "GPS" so to speak!

My work is informed by this truth: Life is difficult and facing its challenges requires courage and connection. I strive to create an environment of non-judgment where thoughts and feelings can be expressed, issues can be explored, and values can be acted on. Asking for help can be awkward, but I view it as a strength that often opens the door to relief, problem-solving, and transformation. Each day I witness how counseling helps individuals navigate predictable life-stages as well as unexpected crises. And I see that healing, growth, and meaning are within reach for all.

Everyone who cares deserves to be happy. Life is also full of ups and downs. This is especially true when it comes to relationships. Sometimes, we push through the struggles and eventually feel some relief. But other times we can feel stuck, repeating patterns or habits that get us nowhere or keep us in a rut. Anger or distancing from one another often replaces the love and closeness we want and deserve in our relationships. If you want to be happy again, or just be a better you, I am here for you.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
