I have extensive experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who struggle with dysregulated emotions, difficulty tolerating distress, anxiety, and depression. Outward manifestations of these symptoms often include substance use, self-injury, avoidance or difficulty managing relationships, which can result in a spiral of fear, shame, anger, and hopelessness. My focus is on helping my clients generate ways to improve their life, define goals and reduce behaviors and ways of thinking that interfere with these goals.
I specialize and am formally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and also utilize DBT informed therapy in order to provide a path out of suffering and toward the life that my clients want based on their own personal goals and values. Within DBT I also specialize in substance use and other behavioral addictions.
In addition to DBT I am trained in the DBT adaptation for Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) for trauma and offer CBT informed therapy for those where DBT may not be a fit.
