Hello, I'm Nashonne Watson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the state of Pennsylvania. In my work, I use an eclectic approach combining my 13 years of counseling experience and evidence-based practice to create a safe space for you to allow yourself to be vulnerable and grow. Over the years I have completed certifications in trauma counseling, spirituality-based counseling, and perinatal treatment. In addition, I am trained in DBT for adults and adolescents, CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and am presently training in Brainspotting.
While I treat Clients from an array of backgrounds, I am well-versed in using a trauma-focused perspective. Instead of questioning what is wrong with you, I ask, what happened to you? This is an effective way to approach treatment for symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, aging, stress, transitions, serious mental illnesses, and most of all complex trauma.
I was called to become a therapist through my personal life experiences of trauma. I have sat on both sides of the therapy desk and still do as I believe that counseling is a journey. The examples set by members of my support system encouraged me throughout my training.
