With couples, I facilitate and mediate to help clarify the issues at hand and reach a positive outcome. With individuals, I focus on maladaptive thoughts and behaviors to help change them and improve their quality of life. With adolescents, I do "therapy by proxy": parents become "co-therapists" and learn skills to improve communication and life at home.
After some years in California I am back in New York but still providing services remotely to my NY and CA patients via video conferencing. I find that it is a great time-saving mechanism for those who want treatment but don't have time to dedicate to office visits which I d0 offer when necessary. It also allows for total privacy and 24/7 access.
