I aim to live by the instruction to "love your neighbor as yourself". As a mental health professional, this is exemplified by the respect, dignity, and integrity I have for all of my clients. I believe that a therapeutic relationship is one of empowerment where people can make the changes they deem necessary in their lives. At the first meeting with my client, they are encouraged to share their story. I believe that everyone is an expert on their own life experiences. Clients are supported in making strength based treatment plan goals, encouraged towards client centered treatment and assisted in implementing the changes.
I worked for 2 years with at-risks teens and children in a group home setting. I am able to assist families whose children have behavioral disturbances or emotional difficulties. In addition, I have worked in outpatient for over 2 years helping children, parents, single parents, teenagers, adolescents and adults to address a variety of mental health issues.
I believe that respecting a client's viewpoint and life experiences are paramount. I create a therapeutic relationship with my clients where they are the experts in their journey. I play a supportive role to assist them in accomplishing their identified goals.
