As a Certified Sex Therapist, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and co-founder of the Center for Sexual and Relational Health, I specialize in helping individuals and couples struggling with sexual/porn addiction, compulsive sexual behaviors, infidelity, and the associated trauma from those behaviors. Because sexual/porn addiction impacts the entire family system, I am also a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist as I help partners navigate the emotional impact created by the problematic behaviors of their loved ones. I journey alongside my clients to help them create a new narrative for themselves so they can move forward.

As a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed addiction counselor I hope to leverage my experience and education to find a solution to help meet your individualized goals and needs.
If you are a human being who is struggling with "human stuff" I might be the therapist for you. I have been practicing for over 15 years and I am very interested in finding solutions that work for my patients as opposed to a "one size fits all approach". I have a strong background treating depression, anxiety, complex traumas, neuro-diverse individuals, and folks struggling with substance use disorders.

I have helped many people with depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, trauma, and self-advocacy. What does this look like? Depression can look like lack of motivation, lethargy, a feeling of blah. Anxiety looks like an inability to sleep well, excessive worry, restlessness. If you have a history of dissociation PTSD might be the cause. This is common in folks with family histories of trauma. So where do we go from here? Therapy with me looks like you and I sitting down to figure out your goals, and then heading that way together. I especially enjoy working with couples and those with histories of addiction. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming!

I would love for you to reach out if you think I might be a fit for you or a family member.
Making the step to engage in therapy is vulnerable and takes courage. I believe the counseling space should be safe and nonjudgmental. I engage counseling with a person-centered approach, you are the expert on yourself. I see each human as uniquely designed and therefore I do not see counseling as "one size fits all." With taking time to hear your story and build trust with you, I know that change can occur. I welcome you to find a place that holds both security and growth that might feel uncomfortable. With curiosity, compassion and an open mind, we can make this space beneficial for you.

I provide individual, couples, family, and addiction counseling.
“Our emotions are an essential part of who we are. They make life worthwhile, exciting, challenging, beautiful and meaningful” - Gabor Mate. Our emotional experience is one that is unique to each of us and can at times be difficult to navigate. For many people, it can bring comfort to have someone hold space for them during this process, and I am happy to be that person. I approach counseling from a more humanistic perspective which includes processes such as Emotion Focused, Person Centered, and Narrative Therapy. This means that your lived experience and our counseling relationship will be the foundation of our work together.

I specialize in therapy for depression, anxiety, couples and family counseling, parenting support, grief counseling, work and career issues, stress management, addiction recovery, and conflict resolution.
I believe that life is not so much about the good or bad breaks we get compared to others, but rather our responses to the challenges that virtually everyone faces. These responses add up to the story of our lives. My approach is to help individuals, couples and families to respond to life's challenges in ways that promote health and provide for one's story to move forward in a hopeful and productive way. Depression, anxiety, relational problems and/or trauma are as common as breathing and the good news is that there is hope for everyone.

I encourage you to reach out and see if I'm a good fit to support your family's journey.
I would be honored to get to know your child and offer behavioral, emotional, and developmental support through therapeutic play. Children can often show a need for extra support in their development. They may be struggling to express emotions, connect with family or peers, or regulate and soothe themselves through change, traumatic events, or life transitions. I help children connect to resources in themselves and offer a space to work through emotions they don't have words to describe. I also work with families to support the child-adult relationship at home.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
