Do you yearn to feel a sense of peace and flow in your life? Has your life instead been draining your energy, leaving you anxious or depressed? Our lives often become wrapped up in cultural/family expectations, fears, compulsions, and past traumas. These can obscure our true desires and hinder us from living a soulful, creative life. In our work together, you have a space to process your past and release patterns and behaviors that have disrupted your natural flow. What if we could imagine new ways for you to move through life? Let's get curious and find ways for you to feel renewed, grounded, and more at ease in yourself.

Part of being human means that most of us will inevitably struggle at some point in our lives. It is common to seek support and guidance to help navigate through difficult times. Finding a therapist who feels like "the right fit" can be challenging, as it is important to find someone you trust and who is knowledgeable about what has prompted you to seek help. My treatment approach is grounded in compassionately understanding client's unique life history and experiences. I highly value authenticity and flexibility; and my goal is to build a collaborative relationship so that we can tailor therapy to address your needs.

I believe that we're all works in progress, having found this to be true of clients struggling with life changes to clients with the most complicated of problems--even young gang members, in whom I've had the privilege of seeing humanity and goodness. The role of therapist, for me, is one of empowering, bearing witness to life's bewilderment and suffering, and jointly creating a peace of mind and resilience, sometimes in the face of unresolved problems, while honoring one's own truth and rewriting our narratives in a way that makes sense to us as we make meaning to our lives.

There are many barriers that prevent us from moving forward in life and therapy can help to overcome them. Over the last 15+ years, I have worked with individuals with a variety of struggles. I find that there is a strong connection between the expression of emotions and how healthy our relationships are. With a firm grasp of the research behind effective treatments, I balance compassion with strategies for creating lasting change. We will work collaboratively to create a plan for your individual needs. Therapy will focuses on actions, thoughts and feelings and when we may need to accept or change them.

Every individual comes to counseling with a different life story and how that story impacts them. Some people will come to therapy with a starting point in mind, and others may need guidance to know where to even begin. Our relationship can begin in either place; my goal is to support you in finding healing and experiencing growth wherever you are in your journey. I believe that everyone deserves personalized support when it comes to managing their mental health. As a biracial counselor, I understand the unique challenges you may be facing and work with you to develop a personalized plan.

We all deserve to feel aligned, safe and nurtured. Cultivating compassionate self-awareness and acceptance, are at the core of healing, change and growth. When we feel healthy and fulfilled we are more likely to live with meaning. I utilize an integrative lens, centered in mindfulness, somatic, attachment and IFS orientations to promote increased consciousness of thoughts, values, feelings, and behavior patterns. My approach is intuitive, and warm. Our work together involves expanding awareness of the inner mind, and felt senses to move towards a more integrated self. I am tele health only at this time. Serving Oregon and Montana.

The most important goal I have as a therapist is to offer a space for you to be listened to and feel safe and supported. From this place of comfort, we can begin therapy and move through therapeutic processes, and create goals to work on in our time together. Whether you would like to just talk and share your thoughts, or create specific goals such as anxiety reduction, increasing positive thought patterns and behaviors, improving overall wellness, or identifying specific wellness areas you would like to improve on, this time together is for you.

Welcome to my practice! I take a positive, respectful, growth-oriented approach to therapy. I believe we each have intrinsic resources for healing and connection, and an innate striving for vitality, balance, wholeness, and personal maturity. Working in a variety of community-based settings, I have come to appreciate the power of human resiliency, the importance of naming and claiming our stories, and the transformative quality of suffering. I view my role as a therapist as witness to your unique story, and companion to your growth as we wrestle with the often complex questions life brings.

Reaching out for help can be difficult. My purpose is to help you find the path that is best for you. Working through difficult times is easier when you have a listening ear and someone to help you sort through the obstacles and options.

We all get stuck at times. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with life/relationship challenges or addiction. I am here to help others overcome difficult experiences by learning to understand their authentic needs, create lasting bonds with others and find emotional freedom so that you can build the life you truly want. I believe in abundance and that everyone has the right and the capacity for healing, growth and inner peace. Because every individual and each couple arrive in counseling at different stages of change and readiness for healing, I feel it is imperative to meet everyone right where they are.

Prioritizing yourself, and your wellness can be difficult, especially in our turbulent world. I would be honored to help you create a safe space where you can completely be yourself, and accepted for who that is. I am always amazed at the resilience and potential each of my clients have, and I would love to help you tap into that. I believe that an authentic relationship between the counselor and client is really important for change. I know I am not always the right fit for all clients, so if I'm not your cup of tea, I will help you find the counselor that is! I also provide PCLC supervision under my practice.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
