In my role as a counselor, I am passionate about creating a supportive environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued, reflecting the fundamental human need for connection and belonging. I employ a relational approach, prioritizing our therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful growth and healing. Through emotion-focused therapy, we identify and challenge patterns in relationships that may evoke shame, fear, or anger, and collaborate to cultivate a sense of purpose, belonging, and fulfillment.

Sometimes our life experiences have a way of causing an altered view of ourselves and the world around us. Trauma and grief can also cause us to disconnect from our lives and the people we love, leaving us feeling unsettled, anxious, and lost. My approach to counseling involves creating a safe space for my clients that supports self-exploration, understanding, and personal growth. My strength-based, trauma-informed practice draws primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness practices, and internal family systems. Together, we can define your goals and values, and explore who you truly are.

I'd hope to create a safe and welcoming space on this journey for you. This first step is the hardest part.

“You are the most delightful child in all the world. Having you around just lights up my day.” For many of us, these statements do not resonate with our childhood experience. For others, childhood trauma left visible scars. And yet the child brain is wired for growth in an environment of unconditional love and acceptance.

Childhood trauma often times comes with a feeling of deep shame, which turns into a core belief that you are bad, undeserving and unworthy of anything good. Shame comes from an old German word meaning “to cover.” You hide your feelings, keeping them secret. Because—if they really knew who you were, they couldn’t love you. You spend your life trying so hard to cover up the bad so no one will see. In doing this you lose your authenticity, your truth, your dreams. You become someone you are not. You lose your light. Working through trauma is hard, it takes courage, dedication and patience, but it is worth it. You are worth it.
