In my practice I enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds and of all ages. In working with children, adolescents and up through adult ages I find success working with people who are interested in making a change in their life, healing from past experiences and improving their ability to cope while moving forward.

I was a career/volunteer EMT and volunteer Firefighter for 15 years; as such I am particularly interested in working with individuals who are members of our Emergency Services Communities. I have an experience based understanding of the unique issues facing our Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS and other Emergency Service providers.

At one time or another most people feel stuck in unproductive or even damaging ways of thinking, feeling, perceiving and acting/ interacting. Sometimes the causes of the difficulty are hard to see or define. Other times we may understand why we struggle but lack the skills or support needed to make and sustain change.

We provide child and family outpatient counseling for Missoula, Hamilton, Helena. We see children and young people, from toddler up to age 21, and their families. We have a number of well qualified therapists who have a wide range of clinical specialties. We frequently see children impacted by conflicts between divorcing or divorced parents, and children who have experienced early life trauma or loss. The specific needs that bring children and parents in to see our therapists may manifest as behavior problems, difficulty managing depression, anxiety, poor school performance, or escalating conflict in the family and school.

I am licensed in GA, VT, & MT, practicing for 33 years. I specialize in treating Post-traumatic Stress DO using EMDR, a trauma therapy which transforms lives, allowing people to put the past in the past and live fully in the present. I am certified as an Emotionally Focused Couple’s therapist (EFT), the only research supported couples therapy. I assist with traumatic grief from sudden loss, which completely disorients and is rarely understood. To empower clients, I emphasize overall health & the benefits of optimal nutrition, exercise, & stress reduction, actions they can take on their own to improve their lives.

My professional goal for my clients is simple: Identify areas of concern, develop a treatment plan, and work to achieve those goals. No problem is too small or too large to address. I believe the therapeutic relationship is significant and that the therapeutic process needs to be a collaborative effort. There is an intricate relationship between how we think, how we feel, and how we behave. Attitude is everything; therefore, it is imperative to believe change is possible. I do. I am a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, and I've worked with a diverse range of people in different life situations. Since starting my practice, I have also begun providing life coaching services to give additional support to people going through the transformative process of healing. Throughout my career, I’ve been involved with community organizations that raise public awareness of mental health. My background includes public speaking, legislative involvement, hospice, private practice, and crisis therapy. I also have certifications in treating eating disorders as well as PTSD.

Becca meets every client where they are and believes in going at the pace of her client's needs. She believes that building a relationship is what allows a therapeutic relationship to flourish and be successful. She believes the client is the expert of their own life, and progress can only be made when the client is ready. By offering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, she feels everyone can be successful and make positive changes in their lives with the proper support, and to increase their quality of life.
