I work closely with all clients to assist them in gaining the personal insight and self-awareness necessary to identify thought patterns, behavior patterns, and relationship patterns that consistently create difficulty and make change appear impossible. Marie Frison is the owner and clinician of Hearts of Healing Therapies, LLC and has over 16 years of experience working with individuals of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic, and grief-related issues. She provides evidenced-based treatment for individuals 10 years of age and older. Her specialties include trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, panic, worry, grief and loss. Marie is Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). She is also a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).

I believe that everything we need in order to heal is within our internal reach. Sometimes we can access this healing on our own, and sometimes we need supportive, non-biased accompaniment so we can go deeper into our healing processes. Consider me your attentive support person. My past work experience has focused on the issues of grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and behavioral issues.

I have worked with children and families for over 40 years. My goal in life has been to make a difference in the life of a child, helping them to feel good about themselves and teaching them skills to cope with whatever circumstances have led to their emotional or behavioral problems. I also strongly believe in working closely with the parents of the children I work with, helping them to understand and accept what is happening with their child and providing them with support and skills to interact with their child in positive and productive ways. Making a commitment to therapy can result in children that are happy and successful.

I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of practice settings over the past 20 years. My primary area of interest and training is working with children under the age of 10 dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, autism, developmental delay, divorce, grief, medical issues, behavioral problems, and more. I believe children have limitless potential for growth and they have an innate capacity for resiliency. I also believe that parents and primary caregivers play a critical role in a child's recovery and a joint approach to working with children is essential to healing.

I have been in private practice as a licensed clinical social work. since 1989. I have a master's degree from Tulane University where I served on the advisory board for the School of Social Work. I was a consultant at the Master's and Johnson Sexual Trauma Unit in New Orleans, trained in critical incident debriefing, and served as a divorce and custody mediator for the courts in Louisiana. I enjoy working with adults both individually and as couples. I enjoy helping people find patterns that no longer work for them and teaching new strategies for coping and growing.
