In my practice I work with two groups of people, couples and Men/Adolescent Boys. When working with couples we focus on building trust and safety while exploring past hurts, marital conflict, parenting struggles, resentment, affairs and addiction. I also enjoy working with couples who are newly approaching marriage with pre-marital counseling. When working with Men/Adolescent boys we explore grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety relationships, betrayal, depression, ADD/ADHD, personal failure, divorce, sexual struggles, infidelity, pornography, drugs and alcohol addiction.

As a Sexual Addiction Specialist (C-SASI), Russ works with male clients battling sexual addiction, problem behaviors with pornography, and recovering from affairs. This work has included the spouses of these men as well. Russ also works with those dealing with depression and anxiety, adolescents and their families, couples/marriage counseling, individuals dealing with shame and past trauma, and men presenting with unwanted same sex attraction.

I am trained in and working toward certification in EMDR. I have also taken the Gottman Couples Communication Course. I work with people who have been sexually abused or assaulted as either children or adults, those with depression, grief, anxiety, stress, trauma (civilian and military) , sexual dysfunction,sexual addiction, sexual pain disorders as well those with infertility. I also work with people with genetic disorders as I have Masters in Medical Genetics.

We have been married for 39 years and we are both Licensed Professional Counselors and National Certified Counselors.
