Many people have had challenges that often require the assistance of another person. My passion as a mental health therapist is rooted in personal experience. Even with over 10 years of experience in the counseling field, I do not consider myself an expert. My clientele and I will learn together during the counseling process. This setting is the perfect opportunity for a partnership where the client and the counselor can develop new skills, display growth, and make steps toward transformation.

With over 10 years of experience in addiction, complex trauma,anxiety/depression, and relational/family issues - I believe I can be the person to help you face it. My experience also extends to military populations, in which I have specialized training.

Dr. Vaughn is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor at Vaughn Therapeutic Collective. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and parents. Dr. Vaughn provides the following clinical services: Individual Therapy, Play Therapy, Parent Child Interactional Therapy, Autplay, Telehealth, Mental Health Consultation to local schools. Dr. Vaughn has years of experience providing clinical services to those with ADHD, anxiety, autism (level 1), adjustment disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, dysregulation issues, and other developmental disorders.

When a person is faced with life stressors, it can be hard to know how to "act" or "present themselves." An ideal client is one who recognizes that something is not right and takes the first step in seeking help. That is the most difficult part. They recognize the way they are feeling is not how they want or need to feel. It takes courage to ask for help and I understand the process of finding a therapist can be overwhelming. It is my goal to see the light reignite in a person's eye after they have given up hope for change. I have over 25 years of experience working collaboratively with my clients to find what works for them. I do not have preconceived notions of how to "fix" anyone. We work together to chip away at the issues and create a working plan that helps clients leave feeling better than before after each session. I work within the confines of the client's situation and help with creating realistic and viable solutions. The client plays an active role in my counseling practice.

At the core of my client work is the desire to support people in finding meaning in your life, security in your relationships, safety in your body and feel fully present in your day-to-day life. I am deeply committed to cultural sensitivity and have a great deal of experience providing holistic and trauma informed care. I am available to work with anyone who feels anxious or shut down, going through life transitions, has a desire for personal growth, seeking to find their authentic voice, and/or living a more connected and embodied life. I am an ally and approach my work with compassion and open-mindedness.

I fully believe people do well when they can. If you are not doing well in some or many areas of your life, it's because there is something holding you back. You WANT to do well, but for some reason you just can't. That's okay. I can help you identify and navigate these barriers so that you can start doing well again.

My counseling approach is flexible and integrative, based on individual needs, symptoms, and goals.
