Currently NOT accepting new clients. My work lies in helping adults whose relationships and overall life connections are being negatively impacted by symptoms of depression, anxiety, or trauma. Each has its own way of showing up uninvited. Lack of confidence and or clarity tends to blur one's path in moving forward and making decisions. Whether it's a life transition in loss, relationships, feeling stuck, or that "I just don't know", my goal is to help you create a personalized space for growth, discovery, and healing that you will carry with confidence into your life journey.

Accepting clients located in Tennessee, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Minnesota. I feel honored to work with clients and to hear the experiences that bring them into therapy. Those with whom I work will most often hear me say “You are the expert of you;” I say this out of my aim to work collaboratively and to help them remain empowered during their journey to healing. I love aiding clients in healing past relationships and traumas, owning their identities, and feeling empowered to live in a place of power, connection, and authenticity.

Immediate Availability! We can not plan for everything that happens to us. However, we can choose how we are going to respond. Sometimes, life throws you a curve ball that you didn’t see coming and it has left you feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you have been in survival mode and have just been putting one foot in front of the other just to make it through the day and you lift your head one day to realize you don’t know where you are or which way to go. Maybe life seems like it has become a never-ending cycle of anxiety and depression. Or, do you just feel like you need some extra support to get you to where you want to be? I can help.

Life is full of changes and changes can be a difficult part of life's journey. Some changes we welcome because they start a new adventure while others are challenging to accept. Changes can happen without warning and may be quite dramatic, as in the case of accidents, loss of a loved one, a broken relationship / marriage, job loss or serious illness. My desire is to help clients find the path to hope, understanding, encouragement and healing. I believe healing comes through our relationship with God.

The four main areas I coach/counsel people in are: depression/anxiety management, anger management, career/business growth, relationship/marital challenges, and personal development. I am dedicated to helping people solve relationship and anger problems associated with disrespect, insecurities, bad attitudes, and guilt through spiritual non-judgmental conversation! Our hidden, underlying beliefs often keep us from experiencing the full richness of life. I use a combination of objective assessment tools, dialogues and cognitive behavioral exercises to help you achieve your dreams.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
