Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years' experience, offering you a safe, accepting environment as I listen, interact, and help guide you in resolving issues of anxiety, depression, low self esteem, abuse and trauma, relationship conflicts, feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, etc. You may also be suffering a major life transition such as divorce, loss of a loved one, change in career or home, and life feels upside down and sideways. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients find their own voice by providing a safe environment for them to be seen and heard. I am able to best serve clients who are going through a transitional stage of life. I have diverse experiences in working with college students, varies traumas, relationship distress, addiction, autistic/ADHD adults, and special needs parents. I have completed two out of the five trainings to become a certified trauma therapist under Judy Crane. I recently become a level 1 IFS therapist.

I have been in private practice as a licensed clinical social work. since 1989. I have a master's degree from Tulane University where I served on the advisory board for the School of Social Work. I was a consultant at the Master's and Johnson Sexual Trauma Unit in New Orleans, trained in critical incident debriefing, and served as a divorce and custody mediator for the courts in Louisiana. I enjoy working with adults both individually and as couples. I enjoy helping people find patterns that no longer work for them and teaching new strategies for coping and growing.

I am currently working with all ages of clients and enjoy every developmental stage of life, however I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I have a good deal of clinical experience in treating clients with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and anger issues. I've worked with many children whose parents are going through divorce or separation and the many issues which stem from such a family disruption. Another client population that I frequently see is gay and lesbian individuals of all ages.

The primary interventions I use are from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and other proven family therapy models.
