Children often struggle with emotions; identifying, expressing and processing their feelings can be very difficult. Anger can rear its ugly head when underneath it may really be a whole bunch of other emotions going on. Some children need to express themselves other than verbally. Play and art therapy techniques, sand tray, and therapeutic games can be used as ways for kids to process emotions without talking or feeling pressured. Children often just need to be heard, given skills, and provided with opportunity for little successes that can increase their self-esteem. Parents are invited to learn valuable tools as well.

Hi. I’m so glad you’re here. You’ve taken a crucial and courageous step towards healing. If you are new to therapy, I know it can feel awkward and maybe even intimidating. It’s okay. Together we will take it one step at a time. It will be challenging at times, but I will be here to support and guide you along the way. And, it will also be interesting and fun as you discover more about yourself and develop new skills.

Join me to build relationships where you have a choice in how you react, where you feel more deeply connected to friends and family and feel more at peace with yourself. You may come in with a history of break ups, challenging relationships, parent-child conflict, partner conflict, anxiety, depression, mood fluctuations, and life experiences that have been holding you or your family back. Together we begin a process of unfolding your story. Often by looking back and examining the past, we build a foundation to begin understanding how your relationships, family, and environment are impacting your experience.

I work to strengthen mental wellness and treat conditions that contribute to unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In therapy you will be invited to explore what is not working for you and find new ways to cope and manage. My belief is people often get stuck because of what is happening outside of their conscious awareness. I use current research and brain science to facilitate healing. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I am engaged in 20+ hours of continuing education each year through professional conferences and trainings.

She enjoys bringing humor and laughter into her work as it allows for clients to feel more at ease, build a connection, and find healing. She understands that starting therapy can be daunting and scary, but invites clients to ask questions and be curious about the therapeutic process. She views therapy as a time to support her clients and help them develop new coping skills and tools. She is looking forward to building connections with her clients and providing them a space where their voices can be heard and uplifted, can be seen, and they can be understood.

I specialize in treating trauma and I am certified as a perinatal mental health therapist. Family planning, prenatal, postpartum, and perimenopausal experiences can bring up a lot of different emotions and a new awareness about our relationships and personal identities. Trauma can impact how we understand our safety in the world. I have supported clients to address challenges including anxiety, relationship conflict, cancer, sexual assault, childhood abuse, birth trauma, miscarriage and stillbirth. With support, we have the ability to understand and cope with life's challenges, no matter how overwhelming it might currently feel.

It is powerful to feel heard, experience genuine connection, and to be understood. Our past experiences don’t have to define who we are, but we can explore them in a way to decrease shame and understand how they’ve shaped us today. Together we will recognize connections, identify patterns, and become aware of barriers to feeling successful, loved, and self-assured.
