I believe that counseling is a process of self-growth and understanding that can be beneficial for anyone. Life can sometimes be confusing and difficult; I seek to provide support and understanding to clients during these times. I have extensive experience in working with teens and understand that this is a unique phase of life that takes a lot of support. I work with identity development issues, both LGBTQ+ and racial. I work diligently to provide a safe, comfortable, respectful counseling setting where clients focus on goals important to them. I am also trained in EMDR for addressing trauma.
I am a fully licensed therapist with 10+ years of experience working with adolescents. I have worked for private and government agencies, with 2.5 years experience of conducting crisis work with children/adolescents. I have also taught curriculum on Identity Development Models for LGBTQ+ and minorities, and their potential mental health implications.
I always strive to be supportive, creative, and caring. I recognize that each client is unique with their own individual needs and goals, and I work hard to come up with individualized treatment plans that fit each client. I come from a strength-based approach and work hard to meet each client where they are at. I often have a small dog or two in my office!
