Whether you are seeking guidance in balancing the demands of parenting, work, and self-care, or wanting to navigate life with authenticity, confidence, and resilience, I am here to support you.
It might be time for you to focus on your healing if you are overwhelmed by your emotions or struggle with triggers. Therapy allows you to unpack yourself. Together, we will heal the wounds from the past to create change in current relationships with kids, your partner, friends, co-workers, and family. My clients are unsatisfied and want to dive deeper into themselves. I offer a safe, trusting relationship so clients can be vulnerable and look inward. During our sessions, I will challenge you to get curious about yourself; by doing that, you will show up within your relationships more connected, authentic, and regulated.

I specialize in holistic, mind-body therapy for women who are struggling with relationship difficulties, anxiety, health and parenting challenges.
The way you are living isn't working anymore. It's getting harder to keep up the appearance of being fine like you always have. When you think about how you've been acting and feeling recently, you're not quite sure you like the person you've become. All the struggles & conflicts you face with your partner, kids, family, co-workers keep you on overload, but you have no idea how you could handle them differently. You feel like your life is out of control, and you are ready to try anything that might help you to not completely fall apart and live in dread and overwhelm every day.

I also provide parent coaching.
Life can get pretty hard sometimes. Family issues, problems at work, coping with loss and the many stresses of life in general can cause difficulties that may have us asking questions like "What should I do?", or "How can I cope with this?". Sometimes conditions like depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and substance use can cause additional problems. If these are issues you would like to manage better, call today for an appointment and let's talk together about finding workable solutions. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years experience helping people with these and other problems.

I often work with people to manage issues in their lives that have become difficult and distressing, such as separation/divorce, career/job changes, grief/loss, relocation, becoming a parent, and retirement. Some clients experience symptoms of anxiety or depression and we focus on realistic, practical strategies to reduce their intensity and impact. My approach involves closely assessing how these issues impact daily life, how relationships are affected, what support has or hasn't been available and then develop a plan for working toward changes and greater satisfaction in life.

I have experience working with a variety of clinical issues including ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, perinatal and postnatal mental health, parenting, school/work stressors, relationships, self-esteem, and trauma.
We are wired to repeat deeply learned patterns that, at a certain point, no longer serve us. Whether it’s in your personal relationships, or your relationship with yourself, at times you may find yourself feeling stuck in a repetitive loop, with outcomes that feel undesirable or out of your control. Together we can identify and explore these patterns in order to define your goals and work towards meaningful growth.

Since 2001, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents and families as they have faced some of life's most challenging obstacles. Life is not always easy. Transitions, such as becoming an adult or becoming a parent, can be welcome changes but can also be hard to manage. We also come across challenges in our day to day life that we may have a hard time coping with. Sometimes these things lead to issues like anxiety, depression, grief, struggles in relationships, or issues with school or work. My background in both Social Work and Child Development gives me a unique, holistic perspective that informs my practice. I particularly enjoy using my background to help both young adults and parents work through the challenges that come with their stages in life.

I understand that beginning therapy is not easy and takes many people out of their comfort zone. I believe in a warm and nurturing environment that allows clients to work at their own pace. Your journey is your own, and I offer a non-judgmental approach with each person I work with. I enjoy meeting with individuals, couples, and families. I have specialized training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). This model allows clients the opportunity to get to know each "part" of themselves and provides a way to regulate emotions and improve problem solving skills.

Feeling disconnected from your partner, like you are living parallel lives? We are social creatures and desire connection with others. You may be feeling hurt, confused, or stressed and need the support of someone that can listen and help you navigate the needs and wants of the relationship while learning the skills to resolve conflict. I will help you to learn to understand what your partner is saying, to put the message into words you can hear. Resolving the miscommunications can lead to clarity. Learning to communicate with one another, being heard, and getting needs met are common goals of the clients I work with.

Emotions...UGH! What are they good for? Well...you might not want to hear this, but those emotions you are feeling do serve a purpose, and you might not understand how they are serving you...YET. That's where I come in. You may feel aimless in parenthood, career, or your relationships. You want to understand more about who you are and what makes you tick, AND want a safe and warm space to explore those thoughts. You might be a member of the LGBTQIA+, poly, and/or open community and worried about judgement as you navigate the unique experiences of your life. Or, as an adult you are still navigating complicated parental relationships.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
