Life can be unpredictable, with its highs and lows, ups and downs, beginnings, and endings. It's important to understand that these feelings are normal. I offer therapy for both children and adults in a supportive therapeutic environment. For children, I specialize in play therapy, EMDR, and addressing school and behavioral problems, helping them express themselves and process their feelings. For adults, I provide a range of therapies, including EMDR, CBT, and trauma-focused treatments, to help navigate emotional challenges, heal from past experiences, and promote overall well-being.

Sharon Moehle provides conventional counseling services and she offers additional therapies such as Biofeedback (several Biofeedback services are offered including Neurotherapy/EEG Biofeedback) and EMDR. Some clients request these newer counseling techniques because they can shorten treatment time. Traditional therapy successfully resolves many issues, yet in cases such as: -issues not responding well to talk therapy alone -clients not responding well to medication -individuals preferring to be medication free...then Sharon provides additional therapies to better address client concerns and better meet individual needs. Sharon has been providing Biofeedback services for 18 years and has been practicing EMDR for 13 years.

I use some of the latest neuroscience approaches for therapy such as EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART- Master Certified), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Memory Reconsolidation to help you find relief.
Today is a new day! Having someone to listen without judgment is a tremendous gift. It can remove the loneliness and despair that can happen when life gets to be too much to bear. Perhaps you've had therapy before but something's still missing. You've done everything you can think of or that your previous therapist told you. You are dedicated to your personal growth. You engage in regular practices and are committed to do whatever it takes to be your best self. Despite some real progress, the deeper relief you've been looking for hasn't occurred just yet.

Through a technique known as EMDR, Aisha works to help challenge those thoughts, feelings, and distressing events.
Sometimes we move into a season of life where we realize something needs to change. We don’t always know what that change is, but we sense that without it, we may not be able to move forward. Therapy is the exploration and healing of that season of life. We have a tendency to repeat old patterns that don’t get us to our goal, but struggle to come up with a different path. This doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. In fact, it means that a part of you believes deeply that the way you’re doing things is helpful, even though the end result doesn’t seem so wonderful! Let’s try to create a path to freedom together!

I utilize EMDR & Somatic EMDR as tools in the healing process.
Are you troubled by negative or distressing thoughts & memories from the past or present? Have you experienced a trauma? Perhaps you find yourself "overreacting" to minor or non-incidents. Do others say you're "too sensitive"? Maybe you have lost someone or something and you're finding it difficult to move forward. You are in a battle to reclaim you're stability, freedom, joy, self-confidence, self-worth, self-control, or even a part of yourself. Somehow you have lost your way & you would give just about anything to get back to how life used to be. Or maybe you desire something even better than before. . . .

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
