I am a counselor who enjoys helping others to see their potential, work through their struggles, bond families together again, and help individuals reach their personal goals! There is nothing more gratifying to me than to see someone take the courageous step to work through a difficult situation and grow in their self-esteem, self-worth, and identity.

Counseling is a very personal endeavor, therefore finding the right counselor is a big decision. You'll want someone who can understand what you're going through. Maybe right now you are in a place in your life where you're not sure what the next step is to take. Maybe you have found that your relationships are unsatisfying, you are unhappy in your career, or your kids are stressing you out. I would like to work with you through your challenging situation and help you live a more fulfilling life.

I help women 35 + find more ease by resolving the lingering effects of trauma held in their body. I specifically help women navigate menopause, midlife transitions, and anything still hanging around that gets in the way of enjoying and planning a great life. (Self critical talk, unhelpful habits, resentment, losses, fears) I also support women to recover from womb-related trauma: from assault, infertility, miscarriage, birth trauma, medical procedures, intimate betrayal, or cancer. Recovering means feeling whole and enough, self-kindness with your body-mind-spirit, feeling present & at home inside your body; freedom.

As an experienced therapist for teens, young adults and women, I know the world can seem unbearable at times.
Life can be difficult to navigate. Do you or your teen wish you could find the strength and confidence to push through the pressures and challenges of life? Do you or your teen struggle with overthinking, negative self talk or thoughts of not feeling good enough? Do you feel shame for not being able to perform, enjoy relationships, or cope with everyday life? Do you or your teen wish you could wake up happy and go to bed satisfied? You might even remember a time when you didn’t feel this way. Are you ready to feel confident again and make goals in life without the need to power through exhaustion or maladaptive coping.

I want you to know what an important step you are taking to make changes in your life. Counseling can be amazing and scary at times but well worth the effort you put into it. Choosing a counselor is the first step in taking charge of your emotional health. I believe that our mind, body, and soul are connected and when one is out of step, the others are too. Life can be rough at times but I would love to help guide you through it.

On the outside it seems like you have it all together, but inside it feels like you are falling apart. You’re tired of lacking confidence in yourself and feeling alone in your struggles. You feel guilty about the frustration and overwhelm you feel each day. It’s like you’re the one carrying all the weight. You’ve worked hard for success, but you aren't living the authentic life you hoped for, and you’ve basically resigned yourself to the idea that you may never find the fulfillment in relationships that you’ve found in your career.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or constantly overthinking? Are you someone who tends to get lost in work, caregiving, or the fast pace rate of life that you forget to focus on yourself? Does taking time for yourself feel like a foreign activity? Do you desire to find your sense of purpose again? To learn to slow down and exist in the here and now for a while. It’s common to feel like some problems are beyond our control, but together, we can navigate them. Whether the issues are big or small, I’m here to join forces with you, working toward your goals and uncovering the possibilities.

Hi! I am glad you are here. It takes courage to make the first step whether you are searching for yourself, your marriage, a child, or a loved one. At times we find ourselves in the middle of a life altering transition, struggling with our mental health, and in need of extra support. Asking for help can feel difficult, but getting better does not need to be! Do any of these resonate with you: lack of self love, healing from toxic relationships, wanting to truly know yourself, feel like something is missing in your life, or just anxious and unhappy? If those struggles feel familiar, please reach out to see if we would be a good fit!

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
