I specialize in offering trauma-informed therapy to LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent adults residing in Missouri. As a queer and trans individual myself, my focus is on co-creating a safe and affirming environment for folks to thrive. I hold space for clients to explore and process their experiences of grief, complex trauma, and challenges stemming from the impacts of living in a traumatic and oppressive society. I particularly enjoy working with queer and neurodiverse individuals who are interested in taking a more deliberate approach to their personal growth and who wish to develop a deeper connection with themselves and their bodies.

Keegan knows the road that leads you into the counseling room can be difficult and painful. Whether the catalyst is some form of trauma, abuse, grief, challenges involving sex and sexuality or a desire to seek greater health and self-awareness, this decision is courageous. In counseling, Keegan blends elements of person-centered theory, internal family systems and knowledge about trauma, attachment and family dynamics into an integrative holistic approach.

Welcome! October 2024 - Finally, no wait list for private pay clients. Let’s talk trauma. Most of us have experienced a traumatic event during the course of our lives; how we recover is directly impacted by the kind of support you have in your life. Experiencing trauma & abuse could mean you have fewer internal resources to combat the impact. This can lead to unhealthy ways of dealing with the pain such as addictions, self-harm, destructive relationships, isolation. Through healthy connections and therapy, you can process traumatic experiences and find joy again.

Life is hard enough without having to go through it alone. No matter who you are or where you are from, my greatest wish for you at the outset is for you to recognize that we all have complications — we could all benefit from growth and healing. As we embrace these realities, we also learn to embrace all of the parts of ourselves, including those that most need our attention and affection. Make no mistake, the path to growth can be difficult. It involves equal parts frustration and exploration, and even a good dose of humor! But when we face ourselves, we may also find that the outcome is beautiful, rewarding, and even enchanting.

My speciality is treating children with attachment disturbances. Most of the children I see have been adopted, but many have had other medical and other relationship traumas that have contributed to their current acting out or anxiety issues. Many of the children I see have been previously diagnosed as having Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, and Bi-Polar Disorders. I also see adults who have experienced childhood trauma.

It takes courage to walk in and sit down with someone to share your story. An honest story that includes stress, anxieties, sadness, grief, and emotional suffering. My intention as a therapist is to create a safe and inclusive space for clients. This space allows individuals to open up and be present with the emotions, thoughts, and feelings that make up the human experience. I currently specialize in working with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship issues.

Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from family or loved ones, hopeless about the future, or like they’re struggling to make decisions or meaningful change. They may be uncertain of how to start the process of change or healing, though they’re ready for growth and understanding.

Some of us come to a point in life where we find ourselves feeling stuck. Maybe the things that have always worked are no longer working. Maybe we come to a place where we are struggling with a current relationship, holding on to a past relationship, or longing for a future where our relationships are rich with connection and purpose. Or perhaps an unexpected event or circumstance has left us reeling in confusion and doubt that life will ever feel normal again. Jamie believes that safety and connection in relationship are the most powerful tools for movement towards health and wholeness.

Do you have intense or overwhelming emotions, feeling stressed or just “stuck” in life? While we all try to do the best we can to problem solve and manage life stressors, sometimes what we’ve been doing is no longer working for us. I can help you untangle strong emotions and thoughts by balancing the “see-saw” of acceptance of what won't change in life while also empowering you to use new skills to change. In doing so, we identify unhelpful behaviors that are no longer serving a purpose and work toward more healthy behaviors that are relevant to your goals to figure out the problems in your life.
