I am experienced in a wide variety of evidenced-based interventions including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Behavioral Activation.
I am proud to work with fellow healthcare professionals, individuals from different cultural backgrounds, individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone who is new to therapy or has tried therapy before but without success. My ideal client is any adult who currently struggles with anxiety, depression, PTSD or other trauma, OCD, burnout, or relationship concerns who is ready to commit to treatment. I believe in meeting clients where they are. I view my job as being your guide to better manage symptoms that represent barriers to you moving forward in your life, following a path determined by your personal values.

I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help them build a new relationship with the uncomfortable emotions that they normally avoid.
Do you struggle with chronic or treatment-resistant depression or anxiety? Do you have high standards for yourself or others that are sometimes impossible to live up to? When others are having fun and relaxed, is it hard for you to join in? If any of these apply to you, then we might be a great therapeutic match! Trained by the treatment developers at the Radically Open Institute, I specialize in Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based, transdiagnostic therapy for disorders of overcontrol. I love working with people to build a life that’s not only worth living but also worth sharing!

My name is Christine Sibilla, MA, LPC and I understand that self-care and the health of our minds is incredibly important, especially when it doesn't feel like there is a path forward. During moments of uncertainty, additional anxieties, fears, and doubts can be brought to light. Sometimes the skills we utilized are no longer enough, and we require additional help navigating our situation. Healing and understanding comes from within, by forming a connection to your body and your self.

You're feeling stuck no matter what you do. You know something in your life needs to change, but you don't know what or where to even start. Maybe every day feels like another battle between your thoughts, values, actions, and impulses. Maybe you've been through difficult relationships and you are ready to create healthier connections, especially with yourself.

I know what it’s like to feel helpless, alone, frustrated, confused, unseen, unheard, and unsupported. Also, I know that it’s possible to transform these experiences into something deeply meaningful. The path to this transformation involves time and intention, and the courage to look deeply at oneself. As we learn to understand and relinquish old patterns, new ways of being give forth new hope and possibility. And not just for ourselves, but for everyone around us. What a wondrous experience!

I'm here to acknowledge your internal experience, identify the external forces challenging your peace, and to help you find lasting solitude! Our personal struggles can feel unapproachable, and if left unmanaged, these struggles can breed negative outlooks which develop a lack of purpose and connection. Without purpose and connection, what happens to your authentic voice? Without purpose and connection, how often does anxiety and/or depression hijack your thinking? My style is for you, your children, your marriage, or your family if you/they are in need of reconnection, restoration, and healthy collaboration

Mama, you deserve to thrive. You live in a world of "should": You SHOULD look like you have it all together. You SHOULD always be understanding. You SHOULD put others first. You feel trapped. You learned these rules a long time ago, and motherhood simply reinforces them. As a mama myself, I know parenthood is HARD and selfless work. It's time to define who you are again. Bust out of those boxes. Carve out the space to enjoy life again. Behave in an intentional, meaningful way that aligns with YOUR values, not the ones you learned as a kid. The power is in your hands, and I will help you find it. Let's get to work!

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
