At Be Restored Counseling our approach to therapy is very relational. I take time to get to know my clients and understand the experiences in life that have led them to me. Cumulative traumatic grief is evident in its aftermath as is the need for trauma specialist care in healing.

A warm hello! I want to put a big welcome mat out for those who may need help but are hesitant about being open with a therapist. There is a fresh start and new hope in talking with someone who understands and is well trained to help. I am trained in psychodynamic therapy and understand people through early childhood, object relations, and attachment theory. I can help with depression, anxiety, abuse, and relationship issues. I have had extensive experience with college students and women's fertility, abortion, and loss issues. You will find me to be gentle and non-judgemental.

I can provide counseling from a Christian perspective and also offer therapy from a non Christian focus. My practice centers on dealing with Life's issues in general while also having a focus on trauma. Not only is there a concentration on individuals, the scope of my practice also includes marriage and relationship counseling, family counseling, and even group therapy. Overall, I promote building self esteem and treating all clients with value and dignity no matter your background, lifestyle, culture or ethnicity. There is also a focus on helping clients overcome mistakes and poor choices. Finally, "Rapha" means "to heal."

Michelle enjoys working with Couples in distress, Individuals who are wanting to resolve problems expressing as depression, anxiety or problematic behaviors and Parent Guidance for children's problems within Family therapy. With past experience in Nursing and an undergraduate degree in Theology; Michelle approaches counseling with a broad understanding of what in a person's life and relationships might need a new kind of balance or understanding so that emotions can be healed, behaviors changed and relationships renewed. Michelle strives to combine a tender supportiveness with confident guidance to help people move actively towards their goals.

I am a licensed psychologist with over twenty-five years of experience working with adolescents and adults. While I see a diverse group of clients, I do work with many members of St. Louis' academic community, including professors, graduate students, administrators, and physicians. I also see undergraduates and older high school students. A second area of my focus is our city's creative community; I work with many musicians, artists, performers and writers. My treatment style is warm, thoughtful and natural, and I draw from many different treatment approaches to provide the best possible care. I look forward to hearing from you.
