My therapy style is person-centered and trauma-informed.
Your alarm clock is going off, and that sense of dread sits in the pit of your stomach. You slept but you don’t feel rested. Brushing your teeth and getting dressed leaves you drained. The idea of “peopling” makes you want to curl in a ball. You have thoughts popping into your head that you aren’t “good enough,” are “an imposter,” or “a failure.” Everyday tasks can feel overwhelming, and you can be your own worst critic when struggling with life transitions, trauma, anxiety or depression. Asking for help can be daunting, as we are often taught to face those internal battles quietly and alone.

I have experience in multiple settings including substance abuse facilities, community mental health centers, and therapeutic day schools working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, developmental disorders, impulse control, and relationship struggles.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount in fostering change. It is through an open, nonjudgmental, and safe environment that clients can explore and grow into their most authentic selves and lead more fulfilling lives. My approach emphasizes how our past and present experiences shape how we relate to others and the world around us. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and utilize an integrative and collaborative approach that incorporates aspects of Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist, Relational, and Strengths-Based approaches.

My most passionate areas of work are trauma, grief, depression & anxiety.
Need to talk? Feel stressed, confused, or overwhelmed? Need to work through issues that maybe keeping you from being your best? Its important to get help we need & I'm so proud of you for being here- that's often the hardest part is asking for help. Therapy to me- is like Kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with gold, - making it even more beautiful. This treats breakage/flaws as the most amazing part. It takes on a positive approach to healing. " Trauma" actually means wound- once healed- it can be stronger than ever before.

I am passionate about helping people who struggle with anxiety, addiction, developmental trauma, depression, and relational issues. At the core of my approach is an attitude of warmth, acceptance, and faith in my client's innate capacity for healing and transformation. Often people come to therapy with a sense of disempowerment. The impulse to reach out in hope of finding a caring, safe, or 'true other' shows your innate wisdom and strength. We are all in desperate need of help and connection. The implicit hope is that you can do more than just survive.

I work with individuals ages 12 and up who have experienced trauma, have body image concerns, are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or low self-worth, depression, and individuals who struggle with regulating their emotions.
As humans, I believe our past experiences have shaped who we have become, unconsciously informing the decisions we make, the relationships we enter, and the way we feel and interact with the world around us. In some instances, this can cause individuals to become stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, experience low self-worth, and struggle to participate in a fulfilling life. I believe counseling can help individuals gain awareness and identify feelings to eliminate or reduce the severity of symptoms. Therapeutic relationships can help identify and change relationship patterns, with a goal of experiencing a satisfying life.

I provide services utilizing a person-centered approach, which encourages clients to be active and take the reins during sessions and throughout treatment.

My specializations include trauma recovery, reducing anxiety and depression, navigating life transitions, and supporting individuals with chronic illness and pain.
I would be honored to help you navigate current challenges in your life as well as past painful experiences. Current challenges might include life transitions, problem solving a difficult situation, or exploring new coping strategies. But sometimes, it is past painful memories that cause trouble in our lives. When difficult or traumatic experiences are left unaddressed our physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational health can be negatively affected. The extraordinarily good and hopeful news is that within each person is the ability for self-leadership and healing. Therapy just helps guide the journey.

I utilize several treatment modalities, primarily through attachment and trauma-based lenses.
Life has a way of paralyzing us with negative “what if’s?" What if there was a way to become unstuck? What if someone sat in the muck with you? What if you could finally get through a conversation with your child or spouse without yelling or storming off? Those are just a few what-ifs we can explore together. Let's create a space where you feel seen, valued, and understood. Together we can create a space where things feel less lonely, complex, or overwhelming. A space where you feel like you have your child's spark back. Wouldn't you like life to feel a little more possible? A little less lonely? To see smiles instead of tears?

Using relational techniques, neurofeedback, trauma processing and growth tools such as the enneagram I will partner with you to find your unique path forward.

Maybe you are a concerned parent of a teen. I offer support for teens struggling with anxiety around school, relationships, sports, body image and social activities.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
