I have experience working with those who have concerns with depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, or have gone through recent life changes.
My goal is to foster a space you can feel safe to explore hope and healing in your story. I am honored to share the space with my clients as they openly process what is (or has) happening in their life. I work with individual adolescents and adults. I have a special passion to help young adults navigate life changes, transitions, and other obstacles they are facing.

Sometimes what we KNOW is true does not FEEL true. Your days may involve fighting intrusive thoughts, wrestling with anxiety, or trying to act okay when you feel anything but “fine.” Your mind may feel like the problem right now, but it is a beautifully unique and complex part of you that is capable of wellness. While stress can be minimized, it will never be completely eliminated from our lives. However, our brains can learn to adapt and find safety even in the midst of life's storms. Whether you have trauma symptoms, anxiety, or OCD you can move beyond just surviving. You are capable of thriving.

Common issues I have experience with include ADD/ADHD, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders, and Gender Dysphoria.
I love that my profession allows me to connect with a wide array of people. I work with individuals ranging from late adolescence to late adulthood. I also provide family sessions for my clients, as needed. Hearing people's experiences throughout my time as a counselor has shown me how resilient people can be, and it's truly inspiring. I enjoy working with motivated clients who are ready and willing to make changes and break out of unhealthy patterns.

What a Stressful world we are living in today! Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. In a society that values hard work over mental health, it can be difficult to carve out time for yourself. As challenging as it is, you deserve to find balance and peace in your life. There is a way to find happiness again and to improve relationships with the ones you love. It is my passion to teach self-love, acceptance, relaxation techniques, and empowerment to women, couples, and families. With this in mind, we will uncover root causes of suffering and work towards healing and solutions.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri with 14 years experience working in the mental health field. I have been a Mental Health Therapist for the last 4 years and currently offer virtual sessions. I began my career assisting families in their homes. This exposure had a significant influence on how I address treatment. Through a Person-Centered Perspective, I see the treatment process as a partnership. I believe in order to bring about healing, there must be an atmosphere free from judgment, full of respect, encouragement and empathy. This is what I strive for. I borrow from several different treatment

Do you struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, and balancing all of work, life, and personal growth? "Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." John F. Kennedy knew what he was saying when he described our need to envision the memory of our future, because if we stay in our past or just live in the present we will never create our ideal future. Ambitious dedicated individuals and groups hire me to guide them to create connections, congruencies, and change to envision their future memories because most are disconnected, inauthentic, can’t see what is within them,

My philosophy is that our bodies are incredible machines; they can heal from most anything if we take care of them. I have recently become certified in Nutritional Psychology and believe the Gut-Brain Axis explains how if our guts are not healthy it will reflect on our mental health. Together we can decrease/eliminate any mental stressors you are experiencing through healing mind and body as one. I graduated in 2010 from Lincoln University in Missouri with a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling. I have worked in private practice the last 8 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S).

With over 10 years of being in practice, I believe it is my role to provide a safe and compassionate space for each person that chooses to share their experience with me. My job is to help each person I see to explore past hurts, to put voice to feelings, and to help each person make meaning out of their life. It is my belief that many of us walk this world not fully allowing ourselves to come into our own, due to a fear of not being accepted and due to limiting beliefs given to us by others. I am here to help you heal your past traumas, the unhealthy attachments you experienced, and to build a future that is full of peace and ease.

My ideal client is motivated to learn basic techniques to redirect their thoughts and emotions. Most new clients have anxiety issues and often panic attacks. They also have difficulty controlling their thought and emotions. What they learn are techniques that allow them to be aware of their thoughts without being dragged into severe anxiety or depression by their habits of thought. They learn to observe their thoughts and then redirect them to give them a sense of well-being and confidence. It is simple. However, it is not easy. Most people need some coaching. I am totally devoted to helping my clients make those changes.

Welcome to my page!! My name is Sarah Logan and here we are all individuals and have unique needs. Being a therapist expands how being a caregiver allows me to see you in a way that might have been missing before. My training in therapy has allowed me to see the "both/and" perspective. I am able to understand my clients' point of view from their side of the fence as I become more engaged in their journey. It is truly amazing what lending an empathetic ear and offering support can do for someone!

My role as a therapist is to guide and facilitate the healing process of my clients as they return home to themselves. This “coming home” process involves attuning to our bodies as we befriend the wounded or exiled parts of our psyche, welcoming them back to the table and listening to what they have to say.

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
