We all reach points in our lives where what we know so far has left us stuck. Maybe we are stuck in our valued relationships, or simply within ourselves, with old stories and emotions we wish could move and change. If you are seeking therapy today, congratulations! You are already moving toward gaining a new perspective toward yourself and your relationships. Maybe you have a specific goal in mind-- perhaps to change a dynamic in your marriage or with your your children. Maybe you want to relieve a symptom-- depression, anxiety or a habit you can't change. Maybe you just have the vague sense that parts of your self got left behind.

I have experience working with trauma survivors, specifically survivors of sexual trauma, as well as supporting clients through grief and loss, and difficult life transitions.
I truly believe we are all capable of emotional well-being, and inherently possess the skills and tools needed to thrive. However, sometimes trauma, life stressors or transitions, or the weight of emotional challenges can make it difficult to find or recall those tools and skills. I practice therapy from a person-centered approach, which means that I believe you are the expert on yourself, and my role is to partner with you as we work to rediscover those skills and strengths that may feel as though they have been lost. We are not meant to be "fixed", we simply sometimes need support in finding our way back to ourselves.

We are not meant to live life alone, but rather deeply involved in relationships. Some of these relationships are highly successful, while others have come with great loss, significant struggle or just the every day difficulty of learning to live and enjoy life with another person. I believe in the value of working through personal problems in the context of building stronger relationships. I will help you work through this on a personal level or with whomever you are needing to have a restored relationship with.

I am a sex positive therapist who specializes in trauma, queer and trans life, kink, sexual dysfunction, neurodivergence, different types of relationship structures, perinatal/birth/reproductive wellness, perfectionism, control, attachment, trust, identity, vulnerability, grief, personality disorders, authenticity, and narcissism and narcissistic healing.
What it’s like to come in for therapy? Therapy is about sharing vulnerability that you may not have experienced before, or at least not experienced positively before. We’re not friends, but we have a connection that we build that is professionally intimate and caring. Therapy is about analysis and making meaning of things that you have gone through and are presently dealing with. Sometimes that presents challenges to a person, things that are occurring with us are tough to look at and face- that’s why I’m here. I will help you look at things that are hard to take in and help you to either accept and appreciate or accept and change.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
