As a military veteran, I have a passion for the military and first responder communities. I am also passionate about providing clinical Christian counseling to those who have a faith background. I became a counselor as a result of my personal journey with counseling, and it is my desire to use my life experiences to build empathy and connect with my clients in a meaningful way.

I work with those who struggle with anxiety disorders, depression, grief, emotional & cognitive coping with medical issues, relationship issues, and spiritual distress. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which focuses on targeting unhelpful patterns of thinking & behavior that cause mood symptoms to linger.

Is your mind always running 100 mph and consumed with more negative thoughts than helpful thoughts? If so, that's because we have anywhere 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day. Research suggests 90% of those thoughts are negative and unhelpful. Many of those thoughts are repetitive, endlessly churning in the mind all day. I am here to help you untangle those unwanted thoughts, uncomfortable feelings and self-judgements that often come in accompaniment. My goal is to provide you space to learn how to slow down your mind and live a more purposeful life.

She has a decade of experience in community mental health working in and leading a vast array of programming. Sam has also created and overseen prevention programming targeting at-risk youth. Throughout her career, Sam has treated individuals of all ages, specializing in children and adolescents. As a counselor, Sam engages in a client-centered approach with utilization of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing techniques.
