WELCOME to Ellie Mental Health in South County STL. I'm so happy that you are here and are ready to start your or your loved ones mental health journey. I am the Clinic Director and would love to help you connect with one of my wonderfully, talented clinicians. We believe counseling can be a safe place to begin this healing. Myself and my clinicians aim to bring an authentic approach that includes humor, compassion, acceptance and creativity to the therapy room.

Trauma's not always what we think it is. It’s not always something big like an accident or loss of a loved one. More often it’s something that happens too soon or too different from what the person has experienced before, causing overload and shutdown in the system. Moving through life without being able to find resolution or make sense of it leaves the body feeling as though that overwhelming event is still happening. Without adequate support, the survivor feels trapped and like something is wrong with them. It's not you. Whatever happened, you can overcome it. A trusting relationship is often the first step toward healing.

My ideal clients are women and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. You might struggle with managing stress, navigating significant life changes, and seeking effective coping mechanisms. You need compassionate support, practical strategies, and a safe space for self-exploration and growth. Your goals include developing resilience, improving mental health, and achieving a balanced, purposeful life. You are drawn to my creative, evidence-based approaches and my dedication to fostering authenticity, compassion, and acceptance in our counseling sessions.

I believe that marriage is a lifelong commitment and I also believe that it is a difficult task to maintain a healthy relationship over the course of the marriage. I seek to work with both partners in the relationship to help each discover ways they can support one another. I believe when both partners feel safe and secure in the relationship that most problems that arise are able to be dealt with in a healthy manner.

I am a professional licensed counselor who does individual counseling working with adults. I work with clients struggling with domestic violence, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, adjustment issues, and attachment issues. I am eclectic in my approaches depending what the client's needs are. Some of the approaches I use are CBT, TF-CBT, Family Theories, and Inner Child Work. I am also trained in EMDR. It's important to me offer clients a nonjudgmental space to be able to heal and meet their goals.

I assist clients in identifying messages and behavior patterns that create self-doubt, anxiety, guilt, and shame, and work to create a safe place to process trauma. I’m passionate about empowering women and mothers to recognize their strengths and abilities while providing support and insight. I want to support my clients in their journey to grow in their confidence and understanding of themselves while developing skills that assist them in their daily lives, creating healthier relationships with themselves and others.
