At times in our life (or at all times) we struggle with the people around us. Relationships aren't easy, and often we are downright clueless about how to handle them. Cue, me. I'm really good at helping you move from what you've got, to what you want. Don't get excited, I'm not magic, but I am here and very interested in helping you sort through whatever life is throwing at you.

Battling anxiety, stress, loneliness, anger, and depression can be extremely difficult. Whether you are a competitive athlete with performance anxiety, an employee struggling to manage relationships, or a student lacking the necessary motivation, I would love to help. Having a counselor who can relate and empathize with situations is essential and is what I work to provide. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed with negativity but being reminded that there is hope and that every season of adversity is a chance to improve resilience and strength can be the reminder needed to move forward.

Life is hard and unpredictable, and we all have struggles within ourselves, with relationships, and with directions in life. As a result, we may experience anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, or simply feeling lost. The recognition of our shared human condition is what motivated me to become a counselor. I bring a wealth of life and professional experiences to the counseling practice with a 20-year career in biotech and business. I believe my life experiences as a parent and professional afford me the broad perspectives to connect with clients and to facilitate personal growth.

Hi there! Have you ever wondered, “What’s wrong with me?” Experiencing a traumatic event can deeply impact your sense of safety, self, and emotional regulation. It’s important to understand that whatever you're feeling didn’t start with you. Instead, it’s a result of what has happened—or didn't happen—in your life. That’s why I want to ask, “What happened to you?” or “What didn’t?” I firmly believe that the right support can make all the difference during life's toughest times.

Grief is universal yet utterly unique. Do people feel it is “time for you to move on” or know what you “should do or feel?” Even well intentioned friends and family can say hurtful things with our society’s limited understanding of how the grieving process works. You know yourself best and it would be my honor and privilege to be fully present and listen to your personal journey. I maintain a judgment free, trauma-informed care environment. Your physical and emotional safety is critically important. All are welcome and worthy of care, compassion, and respect. I use a multicultural approach and am inclusive to all.

When I first walked into a therapist's office as a client, I was a ball of knotted yarn, twisted with emotion, anxiety, and confusion. I needed something...relief; to make sense of things once again; to understand myself; to identify and solve a problem. I needed someone to help me sort it out. I want to help you unknot that ball of yarn. I want my clients to feel accepted and understood, recognizing their inherent value and strength, through our interactions and exploration of themselves. You are the expert on you. I am the witness, reflection, and guide. I would be honored to help you work through whatever it is you need.

I'm Art. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I spent 10 years in the military. Since 2007, it has been a privilege to help folks better understand themselves as humans, help them learn to better communicate themselves to others, and get rid of absurd shame and guilt that keeps them from finding joy in life. I work with anyone over the age of 18 in individual, family, or partnership therapy.

I believe people are unique and therefore there is no cookie cutter approach to working with clients. My experience is that everyone has the capacity to find their way to solutions and hold the answers to the questions they seek but may need guidance in the process. I believe in the "stool" approach to life. We all have our stool and it has three legs: Physical, Emotional and Spiritual. If any of these legs is shorter or longer than the others we are off balance. The more off balance the stool is, the more uncomfortable we are in life.

You strive to stay afloat and yet find yourself feeling stuck, exhausted, and disconnected from others and from yourself. You attempt to manage your overpowering emotions in both healthy and unhealthy ways and yet you're still overwhelmed and anxious. You long to know that you are enough, to experience peace, and for the important relationships in your life to thrive. Or, perhaps a young person in your family is struggling with maladaptive behavior, self-image, or relationships. You long for them to see their innate worthiness and experience joy again.
