I use a multitude of techniques that integrate your personal spirituality, CBT, narrative exposure therapy, brainspotting as well as holistic approaches to heal your mind, body and spirit.
I work with my clients at their own pace. I am here to help guide you and walk beside you on your journey to mental wellness. Our life experiences can leave us feeling broken, rejected, lonely, and searching for answers. But, through this brokenness we can begin to discover who we want to be, bringing us the emotional healing we desire. Through self-exploration we can begin to understand how these events impact how we treat ourselves, interact with others and create meaning in our lives. Chantelle believes that change occurs when we begin to truly accept ourselves as we are. Non-judgement, radical self-love and forgiveness are key.

Accepting residents of MN. Do you often feel misunderstood, scared, stuck, unheard, or like you don't matter? Sometimes life experiences have us feeling like we are constantly struggling or fighting to survive. Maybe you feel like it's difficult to connect with others or even find it difficult to love yourself. This can leave you feeling lonely and unsure of the future, possibly even unsure if you can trust anyone to understand your struggles. I have interest in helping those who struggle with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, and psychological trauma.

I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, & families to help them cultivate a deeper self-awareness, discover new ways of expression, transform dysfunctional patterns, have more satisfying relationships and ensue a more meaningful life. Research has shown having purpose and meaning in life increases overall wellbeing and life satisfaction, improves mental and physical health, enhances resiliency and self-esteem, and decreases the chances of depression.

I’m so glad you’re here! I believe we all have this inspired capacity to transform old feelings, behaviors, and patterns, and to rewire our brains to heal our hearts and relationships. I value integrative and holistic health, and enjoy incorporating the "whole-you" in session: your mind, body, heart & soul. We'll focus on healing the relationship in and amongst these parts of you, resulting in a more integrated feeling of a-well-and-good YOU. Therapy works best when we can allow the full human experience; humor, tears, anger, anxiety, joy... I won't shy away from the messiness and instead will encourage us to jump into the depth.

Keeping anxiety under wraps is exhausting. Everyday stressors flash panic and fear and your body is feeling the brunt of all the stress. You’re ready to turn down that pent up noise so you can live a richer more meaningful life with purpose and ease, but you're not sure what will help. Traditional talk therapy has only gotten you so far.

Since becoming a therapist, I have acquired the following training and certifications: EMDR trained, Brainspotting Certified and play therapy.
I specialize in working with the LGBT+ community, people who identify as neurodivergent, those with trauma and relationship issues (queer, ENM, Kink etc. I don't work with CIS, straight couples). I have a passion for supporting trans identifying clients as they advocate for their needs within the medical system, supporting clients navigating open relationships, and supporting parents who are navigating the needs of their neurodivergent children. I practice from a sex positive, health at every size, harm reduction lens. I ask my clients to show up as their authentic self and my clients can expect the same from me.

Together we explore the impact of the past and heal while learning ways to navigate the present, often with EMDR or Brainspotting.
Does life look good on paper but not feel that way on the inside? Perhaps you're tired of trying so hard to be happy. Your relationships don't feel as fulfilling as you wish they did. You have a sense that maybe your past experiences influence the way you feel today, and at times you start to lose hope that you can feel fulfilled in yourself and your life. It might be hard to remember a time when things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure – you’re ready for some relief and to regain a sense of confidence in yourself and engage meaningfully in relationships.

I have trained in a variety of techniques, including being a Certified Master NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) Therapist, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner & Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for Families.
I approach therapy sessions with empathy and curiosity, inviting clients into a collaborative space to slow down, question, and reflect. People feel stuck in difficult patterns, struggle to engage, and criticize themselves for their inability to manage daily stressors and triggers. Central to my therapy practice is creation of a safe environment to process and explore, reconnecting to parts of ourselves we have lost connection with. I have a lasting commitment to training and treatment on trauma, both PTSD and Complex-PTSD (developmental, attachment, relational trauma). My website is www.honeyruncounseling.com for more information.

I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Brainspotting, which are approaches that focus on the connection between the mind and the body.
Accepting new clients! I work with teens and adults navigating challenges in their lives, such as healing from difficult experiences, navigating family and relationship dynamics, communication and setting boundaries, managing overthinking, keeping up with high expectations, and navigating oppressive systems. Most of the individuals I work with have historically marginalized identities related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and immigration backgrounds. As a result, we explore intergenerational trauma and resilience, historical traumas, cultural differences, and other aspects that shape your experiences.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
