I have a long history of working with those struggling with addiction as well as concerns related to sex and intimacy. From a mental health perspective, I work with clients who have anxiety, depression, trauma, intimacy, relationship problems, and some personality disorders. I believe that our mental health, compulsive behaviors, relationships, sex, and intimacy all interact and influence one another to create who and how we show up today. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist/Bilingual Psychotherapist focused on providing a range of services for the community including Individual and Family Therapy for Adolescents and Adults. I am not only bilingual (Spanish Language) but fully bicultural as well. I have an experience of more of 15 years. My areas of clinical specialty are mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, abuse and neglect issues, attachment trauma, acculturation issues, women's issues, post-partum depression, infertility grief & loss, multicultural family adjustments and parenting.

My work has been primarily centered around concerns relating to complex trauma, substance use, anxiety, ADHD, and identity concerns. In particular, I have a strong passion for working within the LGBTQIA+ community. As part of my practice, I recognize that our overall health can be impacted by our lived experiences with the broken systems around us, and at times, symptoms can be a direct result from living within these systems. My focus is to help clients gain insight around the impacts that past experiences may have had, address past trauma, recognize one's own strengths, and learn how to navigate through the challenges of life.

I love working with a wide variety of different people and issues! My practice tends to be focused on depression, anxiety, self-acceptance, relationships, and regulating emotions. I enjoy working with clients struggling with life transitions, self-esteem, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, and much more! My goal in working with clients is to help them build a life that is fulfilling through working to build skills in self-acceptance, coping with emotions, and coping in relationships.

I have 13 years of experience working with children and families, especially young children. I've worked with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, behavior issues, ADHD (mostly in children), attachment issues, adoption, parenting issues, and trauma. I also enjoy working with adults of all ages.

I work with clients who live with intense emotions. Deep depression, constant anxiety, intense anger, or on the other end—clients who tend to avoid feeling all together. Emotions often drive my client's choices—how they choose to behave or speak (or bow out of engaging/speaking) depends on how they are feeling. This way of living can feel chaotic and damage relationships. My clients become aware of their thoughts and emotions without being ruled by them. My style is warm, highly curious, non-judgmental, and collaborative. It is important to me that you feel comfortable, with me, and in my space.

Client needs, preferences, and strengths form the basis of my work. The emphasis is on collaboration. I draw from several therapeutic traditions, including family systems, CBT, solution-focused, family systems, insight-based therapies, as well as EMDR and other strategies for working through trauma. By identifying strengths and hopes, we together to define goals and a plan to reach them. We work on effective communication, building connections and problem-solving to help lead you the life you want.

We are all on a unique life journey! I am passionate about helping others thrive, not just survive, on their journey. I am especially passionate about healthy relationships with a special interest in family of origin issues, pre-marriage counseling, divorce, remarriage, blended families, and codependency issues. I also specialize in grief counseling, life transitions, career development, and spiritual concerns. I work with individual adults and couples using a systemic, strengths-based, integrative approach.

I have experience working with a very diverse set of individuals over the course of my career in the mental health field. Most individuals I work with struggle with issues that are considered dual diagnosis, or individuals that struggle with both mental health and substance use issues. I have experience working with all different ages, ethnicities, sexual orientation, mental health issues, and substance use preferences. I also come from a lens of years of lived experiences and being able to offer a lens of "coming out the other side." I provide an empathetic atmosphere that is goal orientated, and comes from an unbiased lens.

I've been working with young people for several years. In that time, I have learned the importance of meeting people where they are, using curiosity and compassion as a guiding principle, and the value of humor and authenticity in building relationships. I am committed to creating a space in which people feel seen and heard and are able be exactly who they are. In our work together, I will support you in developing greater self-awareness, creating capacity for self-advocacy and boundary setting, and developing the ability to navigate relationships with more ease.

Schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders are my area of specialty. I offer one-on-one therapy, family therapy, parenting therapy, and a group therapy called Living with Schizophrenia. The social services many clients benefit from (social workers, psychiatrists, etc.) are often difficult to find, and I collaborate with families, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and others to help you figure out what you need and how to get it. I also provide support for the emotional costs of the illness and help clients learn skills to manage their symptoms. Sessions are usually fully covered by insurance.

I am committed to supporting individuals in their healing journey. My background is rooted in trauma training, specializing in Brainspotting and EMDR therapy. I hold a profound belief in the mind-body connection and utilize trauma-focused therapies to facilitate healing, growth, and resilience.
