I work with clients experientially to feel deeply into their own emotions. I help clients learn to relate to themselves and people in their lives in a healthier, more wholesome way. I work by listening closely and pushing clients know what's going on internally. I tell them what I am feeling and ask clients to be in touch with their bodies and feelings not just their thinking. Ideal clients are open to this collaboration to explore emotions and seek new ways of being.

Some people go through life believing they know what they want and yet find a deep sense of dissatisfaction when they get it. Others self-sabotage and seem to keep a safe distance from their conscious goals. Naturally there are no quick fixes to challenges like these, but psychoanalytic work offers the possibility of taking the whole person into account. In order to do this I remain invested in the full complexity of each individual and I avoid reducing patients to a symptom or a diagnosis. With time, hard work, and an unprejudiced space to speak, new perspectives are possible, as are new relationships with self and with others.

Despite the fact that therapy often requires facing some painful realities, for many of the people I work with therapy is a lot of fun. I bring my compassion, training, experience, and dedication to therapy, and in exchange I ask that you take chances: trying something different even if it makes you feel uncomfortable, being vulnerable even if it hasn't always worked for you in the past, and being honest even when it might be a difficult truth to face. I have a lifelong passion for serving others. I have always had a deep interest in the world around me and endlessly curious about the many ways I could be a part of effecting change. I have dedicated my life to learning about politics and global health in an effort to understand better the systems that are inextricably linked to how we experience the communities we inhabit. I work from feminist theory; the purpose of using a feminist lens is to consider the lived experience of any person/people, not just women, with an emphasis on oppression. I believe in tailoring my approach to where the client is on their healing journey.

Whether you have been pulled to therapy by significant life events, challenges with self-acceptance, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, or difficulty coping with symptoms of anxiety or depression, I believe that therapy offers us an invitation into deeper connection with ourselves and our loved ones. By taking the time to gently untangle the deep patterns fueling our symptoms and behavior, often related to our early environment and attachments, we can begin to make more conscious choices about how we want to show up in our lives.
