I have experience working with a wide variety of people working through social anxiety, major life transitions, issues with identity, depression, anxiety, shame, break-ups, divorce, imposter syndrome, self-esteem, addiction, quarter-life crises, mid-life crises, negative self-absorption/negative narcissism, ADHD and existential dynamics.
My style is to support you in connecting with and understanding your deepest agendas and to facilitate the expansion of your capacity to live authentically, with all the parts of yourself. Many people have an intuition of when it's time to make changes, but are uncertain about how to do this, or where to begin. I'll help you generate the right conditions for change by first working to thoroughly understand your inner landscape, and what it’s like to be you. I'll assist you in refining your own instruction manual, find a useful balance between acceptance and discipline, and live a life with more self-compassion.

I typically utilize an integrated cognitive-behavioral and existential approach as a well-rounded and holistic means to learn skills, identify and express emotions and needs, and promote growth and healing.
I seek to create a therapeutic space that is validating towards my clients’ identities and lived experiences. I believe both the client and counselor have expertise and insight to bring to the collaborative therapeutic relationship. Together, we can curiously explore feelings, thoughts, identity, life events, meaning, and stressors as I believe increased self-awareness is key in addressing deeply-rooted anxieties and tensions and distressing thoughts and emotions.

I specialize in long-term/depth work with older adolescents and adults navigating existential, identity, and trauma-related issues.
You may feel like you are stuck or moving through life without purpose or meaning, like your brain is on autopilot reacting to the world instead of responding mindfully or with meaning. My role as a therapist involves helping people tap into their inner healing systems in order to turn down the volume of incessant thoughts, soften the rough edges of the past, and overall feel empowered in approaching life with greater clarity, ease, creativity, and confidence.

Greg uses a variety of therapy methods: Humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, EMDR, and CBT.
Greg frequently works with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family of origin issues, identity and self-esteem, chronic pain/illness, and trauma. Greg grounds his work in relationship and holds space for clients as they find insight and healing through an exploration of their inner world. He welcomes the messiness that may come with this exploration, serving as a container or guide. No one needs to face that alone. Greg enjoys working with clients who have intersecting identities, and he strives to be anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and non-ableist.

I work through an existential and feminist lens.
Do you feel like you need footing in your life? Do you long for connection and closeness to others but struggle with the path there? Does anxiety, depression, and worry keep you from being the person you wish you could be? I am an attachment-oriented practitioner looking to work with children/adolescents (ages 7+), adults, couples and families who struggle with communication and everyday life. I greatly enjoy working with teens and their families to build coping skills as they manage life transitions, family dynamics and/or parental separation. I welcome all people across the gender and sexuality spectrum!

On the outside you look like you've got it completely together, but inside you're struggling. Perhaps you are self-critical, disconnected from others, or stuck in a job that is not the right fit. Or maybe you are enduring a painful dynamic in your relationship with your romantic partner, parent, child, friend, or co-worker. If any of these resonate, self-exploration can help you discover the root cause of your shame, loneliness, disconnection, existential angst, and stagnation. With help, you can cultivate a kinder relationship with yourself, deeper connections with others, and a more meaningful life at work and beyond.

We can work together to help you love yourself so that you may be able to fully experience the love of others, accomplish the things you hope to accomplish, and gain a more positive perspective on your life.

I work relationally by integrating Buddhism/mindfulness with psychodynamic & existential (depth psychology) approaches.
Self-exploration with a compassionate, curiously-engaged presence is a powerful experience which results in deep, lasting change. Often times, our experience of the world and ourselves can feel vaguely yet urgently unsatisfying. Sometimes we unconsciously live in a reality which no longer feels like it "fits", but we know therapy is about opening up to see yourself and the world in a new, more boundless way. Confusion is a great step towards new growth, and we can work together to help you experience life more fully. (For efficient scheduling purposes, please email rather than call)

I work collaboratively with clients to help them find a sense of safety, security, and belonging through a combination of modalities; Adlerian, CBT, Existential and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.
When we feel stuck in life everything can feel difficult and like a battle; I believe there is no need to face issues alone. With a collaborative approach, I can help people better understand the life events that have shaped their view of the world. Every individual experiences events that can discourage us. My goal is to help highlight the unique strengths that lie within all of us. I strive to help children/adolescents, families, and adults to recognize the meaning they attach to life experiences. When we understand the meaning we attach to events, we better understand our choices.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
