I believe in incorporating a positive psychological and holistic approach to the individuals I serve. By incorporating an overall wellness and "whole mind/body" approach with individuals, I believe each person can get the best out of themselves through mental health therapy. I utilize evidenced based clinical counseling techniques such as ACT, Mindfulness, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and a variety of sport counseling/psychology modalities into practice. Lastly, I take an individual approach to every person I treat, knowing that every person is different and deserves authentic, genuine, and exceptional mental health care.

Hello! I provide Telehealth individual therapy sessions to support adults who are primarily experiencing anxiety and depression struggles. It can be challenging to know how to navigate life when experiencing stress. At times these stressors can lead us to feeling unsure of what we can do to take good care of ourselves. It also can be difficult to fully talk through our problems with those in our everyday lives. Having a space to practice slowing down and being mindful of what is taking place in our lives, identifying what is in our control and what is not, and strategies to help us in our circumstances, can bring value in our lives.

Authentic relationships and dry humor are some of my favorite therapeutic tools. I approach therapy as a collaborative experience meeting people where they're at, non-judgmentally, forming genuine relationships that cultivate wholeness. We all experience transitions and life changes that challenge us. I help people understand these experiences so that they can live more authentic and effective lives.

I am a Christian therapist, and I work with individuals, couples, and families. I spent years as the mental health supervisor for Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, and now I work with adults and adolescents who are grieving, healing from trauma and PTSD, going through role transitions, and trying to understand how they can find fulfillment through value-based living. I see mental health from a holistic framework that incorporates both emotional and spiritual wellbeing. I have a deep understanding of how addiction and mental health correlate, and I also work with those recovering from spiritual trauma or living with anxiety.

My clients look forward to talking with me because we meet where they are, with openness and acceptance.
Perhaps with today’s latest challenges you feel out of balance, stuck in some places, and in need of a fresh approach that honors your strengths and personal values. My clients know who they are and are motivated towards continued growth. Many are beginning to struggle with loss as they, their friends, and their family age. Some have never learned to cope. Some manage using chemicals but now recognize that these strategies are unsustainable.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
