I believe every individual's path of healing is unique. I approach therapy collaboratively, placing emphasis on your innate wisdom to support processes of growth and transformation. I also work holistically and am attentive to the intersections of mind and body in addition to the environmental, systemic, and intergenerational factors that influence our lives and wellbeing. I aspire to create a trauma-informed, nurturing, and compassionate space in which you can explore your inner world and relationship to life and Self.

As a mother and first-generation immigrant, my lived experience has informed my clinical practice. I enjoy helping others navigate stressful life changes. I provide clients with Adrelian psychotherapy and trauma-informed care, including AF-EMDR. While all clients are welcome, I have focused on helping mothers navigate the challenges of parenting, pregnancy, post-partum concerns, difficulties with fertility, and divorce; as well as First Generation immigrants navigate the acculturation process. Recently, I have branched out, providing services for neurodiverse and twice-gifted clients.

Laurie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children and adults. Her goal is to provide a supportive space to explore issues in a meaningful way with the intention of achieving a more balanced and joyful life. She helps individuals navigate life changes such as marriage, paripartum, parenting, career exploration and aging.

My current work focuses on sex therapy. My areas of speciality within sex therapy include desire and arousal issues, desire discrepancies between partners, vulvodynia/vaginismus and other sexual or pelvic pain, and the intersection of sex and disability. Additionally, I work with adults and older teens–especially queer, trans and LGTBQIA+ people—around issues of mood, attachment, addiction, and identity. I also write letters of support for gender affirmation surgeries.

Therapy is an exploratory and learning process. If you feel stuck, frustrated, and wonder "Why can't I fix this?," you are not alone. "Fixing" implies brokenness. Perhaps, it is not about "fixing," but making changes to be more effective in life. My goal as a therapist is to bring compassion to you and foster a sense of empowerment. Currently I am not taking any new clients. I provide psychotherapy to adolescents and adults seeking to address a variety of concerns. I have a strong commitment to collaboration and empowerment so that individuals can utilize their strengths to help shape the healing process. I value maintaining strong working relationships as well as offering a mind - body approach. I help clients identify existing patterns that work as well as patterns that may have worked in the past but are not working now. We work together to find healthy patterns that fit each client's needs, and meet their goals.

Working with people overwhelmed by trauma, depressed, anxious, or simply stuck, is a passion of mine. Why? Because I have found in both my own life & professional experience that, paradoxically, these painful areas of our life can offer us opportunity for personal growth and understanding ourselves. To be clear, this is not easy, and takes lots of courage. It's a journey, a practice, which leads to self-compassion & a healthy way to live authentically in the world. My therapy style is engaged and proactive. Clients repeatedly tell me they feel safe and accepted in therapy to explore their issues, whatever they happen to be. I ask questions and make frequent observations to help clients (1) increase self-awareness and become more comfortable with themselves and their feelings, (2) to make better choices, (3) toward greater satisfaction in their lives and relationships.
