I believe we are created for a life of joy and fulfillment. However, our experiences can adversely impact our ability to experience this. While at times, friends and family can offer enough support, there are moments when the help of a professional is needed. Whether it be depression or anxiety or more complex issues like trauma and ADHD, a therapist can be a trusted companion on your healing journey. As a therapist, I offer a listening ear free of judgment. I use my training and life experience to help guide you in a process of healing and growth that brings mindfulness and grounding to your every day life.

I see therapy not as a surgical procedure to fix brokenness, but rather as a process similar to exercise—aimed at enhancing our existing strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. I work to cultivate a safe space where individuals can sift through the noise of every day stress and painful memories of the past to discover new pathways forward. I strive to understand clients’ stories within the context of the many different systems surrounding them. I believe that our collective healing and liberation is tied to one another and that therapy can help us to reconnect to ourselves so we can better show up in our community.

Hello there! My name is Katie. The clients I enjoy working with are typically coping with the effects of trauma and are wanting to re-process that trauma in order to feel more connected and present. They are people struggling with generalized anxiety, Grief, PTSD, and depression. They may be struggling in their relationships, experiencing life transitions or trying to figure out who they are. I love working with folks who have the desire to explore their struggles in order to process it and grow. I believe that each individual possesses inherent strengths and that my role is to provide an environment where clients can tap into it.

I imagine many things in your life are going well, but there are a certain things you think, feel, or do that you just wish you didn't think, feel or do. Maybe you get anxious or angry when you feel criticized. Maybe you shut down and lose motivation when faced with a difficult task. Or maybe it's something else and it's getting in the way of you being yourself, and feeling comfortable at home, at school, or at work. You've tried lots of ways to manage your these thoughts or feelings, but they don't seem to calm down. It's like something takes over, filling you with anxiety, sadness, fear, anger or something else.

So often in life we think the key to finding happiness exists in something outside of ourselves. We change jobs, partners, friends and cities only to find ourselves exactly as we were, living with the same problems and patterns, and ultimately in the same self-imposed prisons. As children, we intuitively develop adaptive solutions to maladaptive situations that enable us to protect our hearts and minds. Unbeknownst to our consciousness, these self-deceptions no longer protect us, but in fact compromise our capacity for growth.

Are you having trouble in your close relationships? Tired of fighting about everything? Do you feel like your family life is completely out of control? My clients - families, couples and individuals alike - tell me that they appreciate my kindness, sense of humor and calm non-judgmental outlook. Our relationships are the foundation of well being and that is where I put my focus as a therapist. It can be tough to untangle things but you CAN rebuild relationship - it IS doable. I believe whole-heartedly that we do best when we are connected to one another in a healthy way.

I am a licensed psychologist with more than 30 years of experience. People consider psychotherapy for many different reasons. I would like to learn about your particular goals. It is my job to listen carefully and help you to have new understandings about your life, your options, and your ways of doing things. I work to provide an atmosphere of respect and trust where you can explore new ideas. We are all complex and deserve deep understanding and compassion

Psychotherapy is the intricate healing process of restoring parts of ourselves that we are struggling with. While we humans cannot choose what happens to us or make everything “right” to us, we have the power to alter how suffering affects us.

I am a queer, fat, cis-gender woman. I'm a divorced single mom, a therapist, a social worker, a community organizer, a birth and postpartum doula, an activist, a friend, and a member of many different kinds of families. All these identities, roles, life experiences have woven together to shape the unique perspective and philosophy that guides me. I am committed to the goal of liberation, individually and collectively. I am committed to finding ways to live life as our liberated authentic selves in a world that tries to shatter our identities, question our experiences, values and dreams.

I work with clients dealing with loss and transition and those struggling with anxiety and depression. I help my clients learn to be more present in their lives. This reduces irritability, reactivity, and the feeling of being overwhelmed or preoccupied. Together, we work to increase awareness of where they hold tension in their bodies and what triggers this tension. Often, we identify the emotions that are underneath the anxiety and they begin to heal by learning to accept and “sit with” these difficult feelings with compassion. This allows more ease in interpersonal interactions, conflict resolution and more joy in life.

Hi, I'm Emma (she/they)! I'm a strong believer that our bodies hold inherent wisdom and that they are trustworthy. I also believe that the stories we tell ourselves shape our realities, and that therapy is a unique and powerful exploration of those stories. I dream of co-creating a therapeutic environment where you can take up space, breathe a sigh of relief, and be courageous in your exploration of yourself. I resonate with therapy frameworks found in Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems, with a foundation in embodiment, somatics, and the impacts of our developmental experiences.

Being here proves that you can do hard things. It’s not always easy to take the next step and eat your mental health vegetables, or however you personally want to frame the idea of therapy in your mind. As a clinician, I strive to make my clients feel seen and heard no matter the reason they are seeking therapy. I enjoy working with clients from age 13 through adults of any age on a wide variety of topics including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, grief, LGBTQIA+, and chronic health concerns/disabilities. Client-centered practice is very important to me. I love working with folks on building and practicing coping skills.

How are you showing up in your life? Perhaps you are exhausted by efforts to avoid emotional pain, with the result being you avoid being present in your life. Or perhaps you stay mired in forms of emotional pain due to its familiarity or its seeming inescapability. I find great meaning in helping clients move toward their vision of a more fulfilling life. I enjoy working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, challenges with substance use, and/or difficulties with adjusting to new life circumstances – who want to better connect with themselves, their friends and loved ones, and the natural world.

I help people remember how awesome they truly are. Prior to entering private practice, I spent three years at a leading treatment center where I worked with a variety of people in a variety of unique circumstances. I am passionate about working with clients to improve their sense of self-compassion, and well-being, and transcend maladapted beliefs. My practice and work is inspired by the work of Gabor Mate, Richard Schwartz, and Buddhist Psychology. I am a Master's level pre-mental health licensure professional with experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
