I believe in taking an empathetic, person-centered approach to therapy.
Over the course of my mental health career, I have worked with ages 7-81. I enjoy the diversity of my clients and working with each person on their own unique journey. I have a particular interest in working with people who are neurodivergent and members of LGBTQIA+ community. However, I enjoy working with all ages, identities, and backgrounds.

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed.
I am passionate about supporting women as they navigate the perinatal period - pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This is a period of transformation, where we may experience changes emotionally, physically, interpersonally, and in identity. The experience surrounding pregnancy and birth, especially when one or both don’t go as planned, can increase feelings of distress, isolation, and overwhelm - adding challenge to an already intense life transition. We tend to have a lot of judgements about how we "should" feel during this time, and it can be quite upsetting when that doesn't match our experience.

I integrate theoretical views that include Adlerian, Jungian, relational, Person-Centered, and Transpersonal orientations so clients may create a clear image of what they are experiencing.
Distress provides us an opportunity to examine the purposefulness of our cognitive, emotional, and relational patterns in a meaningful way. If we better understand what shaped us, where we are in the present, and what we want to integrate in the future, we can take fruitful action to instill change in our lives. Different approaches to our distress are at times necessary in order to reconcile new stages of development and new parts of our selves.

I use an Integrative approach combining Skills Based Learning, Trauma Informed, and Person-Centered Care.
I strive towards a welcoming, and non-judgmental environment. I understand that life events, addiction, and mental health, often pull us away from who we want to be. Along with how maladaptive coping, family discord, community violence, barriers to care, and other environmental and developmental stressors affect one’s physical and mental health.

Therapy is a place to work through our own “stuff”, ranging from life transitions to more severe mental health struggles. Everyone benefits from having a safe space to process. As a therapist, I will walk side-by-side with you during sessions. I use a person centered approach, allowing space for empathy, as well as challenging when appropriate. I am also a direct therapist and take on an active role in therapy to help support change. I appreciate using humor when appropriate in appointments, since laughter is needed at times! My specialities within the therapy setting include depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions.

My approach to therapy is person-centered and emotion focused with psychodynamic and relational influence.
We all learn through early relationships and experiences how to communicate with others and ourselves, and how to cope and engage with our reality—-whatever that may be. Sometimes over the course of our lives, what we’ve learned no longer serves us and our needs. I believe that therapy serves as a space to become aware of who we’ve been and who we want to be, while engaging in new and healthy dynamics. These things are all part of life and they ebb and flow. I view therapy as an ever-evolving process with my goal being to get to the root cause of symptoms.

I see clients as the individuals they are, with their own unique challenges, values, and strengths, and use an individualized treatment approach to deliver person-centered care to reach therapeutic goals.
Do you feel like you’re living the life meant for you? I believe we all have the best version of ourselves within us, and we suffer when our lives, actions, and thinking don’t align with it. I received my master’s degree in integrated behavioral health at the University of Minnesota, and my educational and work backgrounds include addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and the fields of neuroscience and mental health research. I remain driven by curiosity and passion for the science of mental health, and I update my clinical approach with the latest research discoveries.

My therapeutic style eclectic, though consists of strengths-based, narrative, and person-centered approaches.
First off, congratulations on taking the first step to pursue therapy! Therapy can be a confusing and scary process, but you have already taken the first step by seeing which therapists are out there. Therapy should be a place where you can show up as your whole authentic self without fear of being judged. In our work together, I will tailor my approach to fit your needs, timing, and readiness. I believe in creating a space to honor your journey and experiences. Each person is unique, and the therapy they receive must be too.

As your therapist, I see myself as a guide and my approach is very much strength-based and person-centered - aligned with Carl Rogers, who believed that “every person is unique and, therefore, everyone’s view of their own world, and their ability to manage it, should be trusted”. I lead with curiosity and see you, the client as expert of your life and experience. My approach is designed to validate your experience and help you reveal your inner strength and gain awareness so that you can finally heal and recover from traumas that are keeping you stuck. These interventions are the catalyst to growth and hold transformative power.

As a somatic, trauma-informed, and person-centered therapist, I take a holistic approach to therapy. My clients tend to have a history of complex trauma that impacts both their relationships with others and their relationship with themselves. I'll support you in uncovering underlying patterns and finding relief from experiences such as relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and feelings of low self-worth, as well as help you move through life with patterns that feel more aligned with your goals. From a somatic perspective, I safely incorporate body awareness on the path towards greater self-confidence and empowerment.

I work mainly from a person-centered, solution-focused and strengths-based approach, frequently pulling in skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing & relational techniques. I believe that regardless of what you were born into, or the tragedies or hardships that you have accumulated over time, healing and thriving is possible. That process isn’t easy - it can be messy and it can take a lot of work, but it is possible.
